Arthur C. Clarke says that for every person there are 40 ghosts because 40 people have died throughout human history for every one person alive today. There are also enough stars in our galaxy that for every person who ever lived, each person could have his own star, and therefore his own world after death. I saw this in a Kubrick documentary the other night and thought it was interesting.
