Any LED ZEPPELIN fans out there?

It’s 1979 and tonight I’m going through my big brother’s record collection (without him knowing of course) and I’m doing a loud (and pretty bad) impersonation of Robert Plant … ah, the good old days. Mind, I wouldn’t want to be 15 again.

Treated myself today to Led Zeppelin’s 2dvd set and IT IS TRULY AMAZING.
Over 5 hours of footage going back some 25-30 years ago, when half of the NOOL regulars weren’t even born yet. How this old stuff has been remastered is unbelievable, the picture quality is great and the sound is fabulous.

Started with disc 2, and some highlights are the acoustic Bron Yr Aur Stomp at Earls Court (1975), and the Knebworth concert with Nobody’s Fault But Mine and Achilles Last Stand (Presence has always been my favourite album). Don’t know why the crowd’s singing “you’ll never walk alone” at the end of Knebworth ?!? Anyway, halfway through disc 2 the kids decided that their mum has finally gone completely mad and VOLUNTEERED to go to bed.

On disc 1, the first highlight comes with White Summer where Jimmy Page shows his magic. They don’t come with any more talent than that. Next track that stands out is Moby Dick.: 15 minutes of sheer delight. In fact, the list of gems is endless.

Just started on the extra’s. First one is a Communication Breakdown promo which clearly shows Robert Plant’s no fan of miming. In fact, I think he’s singing another song altogether…

This one is a MUST for any fan. Next purchase will definitely be HOW THE WEST WAS WON.

Not sure how my dad managed it, but growing up all I heard was Johnny Cash LPs and Led Zeppelin 8-tracks of the first 3 albums, so I've been a bit of a fan, but I won't shed a tear if I never hear Stairway To Heaven in my life again.

I did buy the DVD cause I never had a chance to see 'em, but the quality of the footage is indeed amazingly good, and a nice package all the way round. I really like the songs that weren't played to death on the radio, like the Presence stuff.

Very much a time period piece (yeah, we used to look like the audience at the Madison Square Garden show), but it was still interesting to see those three musicians just get to work with their heavy grooves, which make the acoustic bits all the better.

I don't really wanna be 15 again either, but I have no bad memories associated with Zep from back then, even after the arrival of punk/new wave, etc., so I'll just look at this as a record of how things were.

When i was 15 i loved them, but not anymore. I moved on to other music.

Loved them, bought the albums, banged my head on the wall, and then I found punk...no more Zep but I still love the music.

Actually acquired the Led Zeppelin DVD set and the Cure trilogy DVD set on the same day (kind of summer holiday present; it was bloody expensive!). View 1: both represent times gone by View 2: both are quality DVD sets View 3: you can't compare music wise. Led Zeppelin reminds me of my youth. All those contests on high school about who played the loudest. I liked the Bonham solo on drums in Moby Dick. Also the 'Tous en scene' appearance is interesting if you notice the setting and the audience. The Cure is consistent, 'slow', static, but makes me want to hear more and more. Until its finished: the relief of playing NO511 or NO316.

Big fan, but the classic rock radio station down here plays them 24-7 so I haven't felt the urge to get any of their albums. Alltime faves: "Kashmir", "All of My Love" and the one Sheryl Crow covered on the otherwise useless Zep tribute from the early 90s (can't remember the name now)

I recently got "Early Days & Latter Days"....what a great set of CDs....I dont listen a lot, but I do like it!

I've moved on as well but that doesn't take away from the fact that they were a class act and if you can dismiss a band that easily I reckon you didn't really like them at all. I've gone through years of not listening but quality like this never loses its appeal

rocket mick (remember him?) is a big fan still have the vinyl upstairs - never rilly liked moby dick or drum solos generally, but they did some great tunes - prefered physical grafiti to presence meself, but hey.

I didn't know they were fans, although I remember reading somewhere that Barney hates Stairway to Heaven.
Always considered the appearance of Robert Plant a bonus on the NewOrderStory, it should have been him instead of whatshisface giving commentary
