Love 'em, Love Jarvis Cocker, i don't have much of there stuff though, the last single i bougth was "Party Hard", still love that song. Jarvis will always be a hero to me for the Michael Jackson incident.
Sometime in the early 90's I went to see a St Ettiene gig where Pulp were playing support - this was a full 3 or 4 years before they were widely known.
After the gig I turned to my mate and said pointing towards Jarvis - "someday that guy will be a huge star". This started a huge debate - but let's just say my mate tends to listen to me a bit more since.
Don't you just hate a smart arse !
i think This Is Hardcore (the song) is the better thing they´ll ever do. good piece of music, many parts, very emotional, nice orchestration. i don´t like much the other stuff.
I don't mind pulp at all, but when you get a big mouthful of it in that last swig from the bottom of the orange juice carton, it can be a bit much.

there can never be enough pulp, i don't see why pulp concentrations are reduced in orange juice. It gives body to the juice
Don't know much about Pulp, except for the song on the Trainspotting soundtrack, which I like, and for Jarvis's, uh, dancing in that Nick Cave video, 15 Feet Of Pure White Snow.

Yes, you're right Trainspotting is such a good film and the soundtrack is super, but I don't know which Nick Cave video you're talking![]()
not sure which one he means either
but i think his n hers was a top album, different class was good too & of course the sleeves for the recent stuff are by mr saville.
The video is for the song 15 Feet Of Pure White Snow, off of the album, No More Shall We Part.
*looks sheepish* so there was a bit of a clue in the post then.... *thrusts hands deep in pockets, whistles, nonchalently kicks can*
Who can bother with Blur
and Suede
when there's Pulp
? I have most of their albums . My favorite songs are "Stylorock nights of Suburbia", "Lipgloss" and "I spy".

I completely agree with you! Have you heard Anorexic Beauty? Little old, but very good. I think His'n Hers and Different class have nothing to compare with the other albums, except maybe this is hardcore. What do you think?
'his & hers' and 'a different class' are brilliant. the other albums are pretty good, but don't stand up to the other two.
i fancy jarvis, as well. cocker, that is, not al. well, maybe not....
Jarvis REALLY IS Joe's son - though he never likes to adimit this you know.
The geek chic thing is just a clever front to the painful truth.

havent rilly heard much suede, liked the first couple of singles when they were out, trash is ok but cant see how you can dismiss all of blurs output so easily - they have such a varied body of work
Ok... I was exaggerating a bit with what I said
... Blur are ok, I quite like a few of their songs, though I hate Damon - he strikes me as totally fake - but I still think Suede are shit... they've copied themselves so much that they sound like a copycat band now, they never took their music a step further...

I have to agree with your choice of albums
! They are both excellent and 2 of the, about, 20 albums that I listen to from "start" to "finish". I've never heard anorexic beauty though...
