MST3K

anyone know where there is an online community for MST3K-ies? i've been searching and come up with nothing impressive. i know there is at least one other fan on here... i am just looking to share resources.

If you're speaking in terms of just general websites, there's two really good resources: the offical Sci-Fi site and the "unoffical" MST3K home page (I'll add the addys in an updated version of this post). Each has a "message board" or two, I haven't bothered to try and sign up. I joined a MST3K "Yahoo group" but left after a day 'cause I couldn't think of anything to post other than "hello?" and "I haven't seen that one." Of course, we could just talk about MST3K here.....

yeah, i have a few tapes, but missed a lot of the televised stuff 'cuz i didn't have cabel as a kid. so there are episodes my fiance talks about, but we can't find. what i am really looking for is a place to get some copies of Joel episodes taped from TV.

i already have the rhino releases of: Pod People, Hellcats, Manos: The Hands of Fate, The Gunslinger, EEGAH!, I Acuse My Parents, the Shorts, & Poopie. (I think that's it.)

There's a ton of groups on Yahoo that I'm sure do the tape-swapping thing, here's the addy of the group I joined then left in case you want to try there. WARNING: They have a tendency to talk about episodes I haven't seen, or else have vague memories of :D

Looks like I'll have to break down and get another VHS deck for duplication purposes for some of the Joel episodes (I've got a lot of Beta tapes from Joel, but I can't dupe off of that VCR, for some reason). Some titles that are on VHS from back then:

.......those are what I've cataloged so far, I've got quite a number of tapes yet to go through, so stay tuned on that front.

I also joined a MST3K newsgroup, but I had to quit after some idiot spammed the place; I got some script virus or something like that in one post, and a little bit later I had to reconfigure my Outlook Express system entirely.

awesome! thanks for the info. and if you do get another deck green, i wouldn't have any cool stuff to trade since i don't have any other MST3K stuff, except what's been released by Rhino. :(

No sweat about any trade, just postage cost and blank tapes'll do. It'll be at least a month before I get another deck, so keep that in mind. I did watch Daddy O last night, I left a lot of the commercials in most of the episodes (interesting to see what Comedy Central was running back then), but the tape ran out on Daddy-O right after the conclusion of the movie, so I missed the post-show chatter on that one :(

are you sure i can't interest you in one of my band's shirts that says "i love pussy synth music" in a design reminiscent of the old vision streetwear logo? (we'll should have XL, L, M and some girlie sizes next month)
