this is one of those threads andrei does just to make his point clear ;)

we won´t do it this time, don´t worry ![]()
Oh, I get it...it's like abstract art - you can come out with any crap you want and pretend it's really deep or something - then if people say they don't understand you just shrug and say it means whatever you bring to the piece and that if it means nothing it's actually a reflection of the dark chasm in your soul...or something
Influenced by my "JUST GO FOR A WALK IN THE TREES"...Stroll would be better. Now i bet you didn't know i am a avid walker!Of course you do.But do you also know i love WLAKERS crisp!
Hell you guys know all about me.I wonder why?![]()

What is "abstract"?

hold on there, professor.... the walk was a great single. one of the best songs on the japanese whispers album (along with la ment).
a great single, especially when you factor in that it has one of the most obnoxious and repetative keyboard lines in the history of analog synths.
I like it, especially the real New Order-ish part.........heh, wait a minute ![]()
:D (I do actually like that song, though
)
what did i tell you? we ended up talking about the cure and ruining andrei´s thread again! ![]()
poor andrei. :(
he just wanted us to think a little (don´t know about what though ;) )

I think I've got a bite!
best thing about that single was the visual pun on the sleeve (its called walk & has a picture of a fly on the front - do you see what they did there?)

Yeah, but you know, it had to be repetitive for Lol to remember how to play it live when he was pissfaced drunk.

Yeah, but you know, it had to be repetitive for Lol to remember how to play it live when he was pissfaced drunk. Lol Tolhurst wasn't a pissfaced drunk, just a talentless would be musician.

Well, at least until a bit further on in the decade. Coming in to pick up his check and then go get hammered on drink and cocaine certainly doesn't make him deserving of a spot in the band after 1985. Apparently Robert gave him a certain keyboard and several thousand pounds and told him to learn it in 3 months so they could record, but Lol spent all the money on narcotics and alcohol; just couldn't keep up with technology. And I shiver and shake.
I read in a biography of The Cure that they had to colour-code the keys on Lol's synth so he could play it: Lol Tolhurst, crap drummer, crap keyboardist, just crap. By the way, what happened to Lol's solo carrer?

Lol playing the keys - the only time in which a sampler or a sequencer seemed necessary in the Cure. Thank goodness Roger O'Donnell's a decent player, who doesn't need any marks on his keys to remember the notes.

He was in a band called Presence for a while. I've heard one of their singles, and let's just say that he's a crap singer too. Then I heard he was in an electronic act called Levinhurst, with his wife. But I'm sure they don't get many Cure fans at their shows because so many people haven't forgiven him for the whole lawsuit thing. At least he didn't become a painter like someone from the band....

Who, Porl? Wasn't he already doing something in art, with Parched Art, before he joined the Cure?

Porl had his 100% Sky solo show a while back. And he was playing with Page and Plant after leaving The Cure, but I don't know what he does now. Lives off royalties, I suppose.
