Animal House on DVD

Just picked this up today, after a rather fruitless trek for it yesterday (is it too geeky to say "trek" instead of "trip"? Oh well). I hadn't seen it in a while, and only on TV (with all the good stuff cut out or edited). It's a classic, naturally. Anyone else got this? :D

Gonna pick it up Saturday when I'm in Eugene, where most of the film was shot. I have the special VHS edition, with a music CD, and a where are they now feature at the end, but it's almost a duty to buy this thing, certainly one of my all-time faves, and one where I can find a quote for everyday living (e.g. "My advice to you is to start drinking heavily" works wonders in lots of situations ) Love the new sig BTW

The city where they filmed the parade, Cottage Grove, just had a big 25th anniversary party for the film on August 30th, and it was a very swell thing indeed.

Oh boy is this great!

I love watching the movie to see how some things have changed in Eugene, like the football stadium where Pinto loses it, or the Delta house itself, which was torn down over 10 years ago :( .

I have the Special Edition VHS also, and I looked at the new DVD in the store the other day but it didn't seem to have a whole lot more extra stuff on it. Or at least not enough for me to repurchase it.

I was going to get the Animal House DVD, but I decided not to, especially when I could get Catch Me If You Can, my favorite movie last year, for ten bucks

Saw Animal House at Mr. White's House of Target-shaped Pancakes, but passed instead in favor of another classic...

Since my mother just bought a DVD player and is enjoying buying cheap DVDs - those that cost $10 or less - I'll probably wind up buying that, any John Hughes film I see, Vampire Hunter D, my own private idaho, and Waking life, if I see any of them. The film itself is hilarious, except slightly tainted for me. The first time I saw it, when I was 15, I saw it with my mother and sister, and now, whenever I come home from college, they ask me how many beers I've drank, how many parties I've been to, and if I'm going to join a frat. Well, considering I'm living up to my antisocial and unsocial reputation, the score for the moment is 0! :D But, I still enjoy watching the stuff on video or, now, DVD.

Most def, most excellent movie.

Got it and watched it the other night with friends....I have always loved the movie......but the best part of the DVD is the where are they now updates of the characters

There was a theatre production of Point Break (yes, that Point Break) in Seattle not long ago where they brought in a different non-actor each night to play Keanu's part, but they didn't let him rehearse and he just had to read lines off cue cards--all in order to evoke the proper Keanu-esque performances. Unfortunately, I didn't see said production.
