From NME:

THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS and PRODIGY have been confirmed to play this year’s V FESTIVAL.

The dance veterans will perform at the event at Staffordshire’s Weston Park (August 20) and Chelmsford’s Hylands Park (August 21).

Both bands will play the second stage, with Prodigy playing Weston Park on Saturday and Hylands Park, Chelmsford on Sunday and The Chemical Brothers playing alternate days.

This year’s V Festival marks the tenth anniversary of the event.

Still no New Order... but the Chemicals are there.. so New Order's road crew too!

It's a shameful thing to admit on a forum dedicated to the mighty New Order but I have (sob) never seen them live having missed my chance twice!!! So I really really hope that they play V or just anywhere in England that I can get to, otherwise I will have missed my chance yet again!

I think it's a bit of a misnomer than New Order and the Chemicals share the same road crew. They basically share, as far as I know, the same lighting man, Andy "Stop flashing the lights" Liddle, and then New Order got the Chemicals tour manager, Mark Gosling, on board with them for the 2001/2 gigs (I think Andy made the introduction - not sure?) and he might've used some of the same personnel. However, from memory, I don't think Mark was around for the summer 2002 dates (or certainly not all of them) cos I think he'd emigrated to New Zealand with his family. Dian Barton does New Order's sound, but I believe it's her BROTHER who does the Chemicals? Andy Liddle is the only definite link.

Problem is that according too virtualfestivals.com, NO dont even appear in the roumored artists board (and they did appear as "strongly roumored" a couple of days ago). Something seems to have changed, plus i dont think that "special quests" would mean another band appearing BEFORE Oasis :confused2: .

well "special guests" is hardly going to be a band appearing after oasis....
