Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Chicago gig? Place, Date? I know the date that was posted is May 3rd, but is that really official?

How can they have an official date without an "official" venue? That is a little backwards, which tells me that the date cannot be set in stone...

Also, will there be a pre-sale to neworderonline.com members for that show? I would love to have dibs on those tickets...I want to see them up close, which I didn't do the last time I saw them.

If you have any news, please post here...thanks!

Quite simply, they have not announced the venue yet. This is probably at the request of the venue and is a contractual obligation. Rest assured you will find out at the same time as the rest of us.

It's your round by the way Rob when we get there!

you don't need a venue finalized before making an official date. esppecially for a show thats in May on a Tuesday night. New Order can say this is the date that we will play Chicago, and it's upto the promoters to find the venue. With so many options and the fact that it's a Tuesday night, they won't have a problem. I see what your saying though, but thats probally something a legendary and popular band like New Order does not have to worry about. For example, if you have the Riviera rented out for a show for your band, the venue has a way to get around your set date to cancel yours and give the venue to a popular band that will easily sell out the place. If you wanna play investigator, go to different venue websites, find out who the booking agent is and email them saying you are looking for a venue for Tuesday May 3rd, or the closest to it, and see what they say :)

I heard on the radio Friday that NewOrder will be making an announcement about the Chicago gig on Monday...exciting news!

Yeah, they are announcing that it won't be taking place in Chicago after all. Apparently it is too windy or something for the new stage set.

Please be joking! We're all a bit on edge already about this glorious tour of the States! I'm from the "windy city" and have never seen them in my (19) year life but I would love to. Cheers.
