The Chemical Brothers won't be playing the Chicago show. On May 3rd, they'll be playing the World Trade Centre (!) in Mexico City.

I don't think the Chemicals need much warming up, Nicos - they're touring their arses off at the moment and play Seattle just before Oakland!!

There is a World Trade Center in each and every big city in the world, didn't you know that? ;)
Ours is called Cité du Commerce International, but it's the same damned thing.

now that might be worth the "high" $47 price they are charging in Chicago, which has not even sold out..
my wife brought up a good article that was written in one of the NYC newspapers on why Lollapalooza was cancelled last summer.. the article talked about how most of the acts in last years Lollapalooza were "classic" alternative groups.. Morrissey and the Pixies were headlinging that, across 2 days. The article discussed how most people that were fans of those groups were now adults probably in their 30's or 40's now, and have families and careers. It made sense, I mean how many of us here are married and with a child etc... I am 32 now, and it is just hard to get out to see a show, be it an all day festival or whatever. Also, at our ripe old ages we are all trying (well, at least I am!) to save for our kid's colleges etc.. My wife was a big N.O. fan but said she just didn't care to see them.. I of course HAVE to be at the NYC New Order show.. I also don't live in NYC anymore, but in the suburbs.. so it costs me more money to get down to the "city" etc..
Well, I guess all we can do now is wait for the venue announcement, my bet is it will be at the HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM.. it is a similar size to the chicago venue, and is mostly General Admission.. I just hope the tickets are not 47 bucks.. 40 would be fair, but 35 would be right nice! Maybe they will drop the price since CHI and S.F. didn't sell out.

And how many times have the Chemical Brothers played the Cite du Commerce International?
I think Bloc Party are releasing their first album in Canada this week actually... they had a nice feature in our local newspaper last week-end.
They made a huge part on how it wasn't common to see a black lead singer in such band these days... (not of bad taste, don't worry)
How about no support and an extra long New Order only show, with a 1/2 hour intermission. Too many songs would be left out of a traditional set.:)
