Boards.ie tickets wanted forum, or the Oxegen.ie tickets wanted forum. Neither allow above-face selling, so if you can get one, there'll be no scalping.
I was at Oxegen last year and on the Sunday bands finished around 11.30pm. On the Saturday I went to see the Cure who finished around 1am.

Well? did you get sorted or are you still looking?
Also, time to know who's going please post here so we know
Myself, Clock & MYOB will think of a pub for after gig (typically Irish) drunken behaviour
May have to travel back into Dublin to get something decent:(
Anyone coming over mail me their contact details (mobile phone number would be handy) so that we all get to meet up.
We are arriving around 11:00 am on Thursday the 7th and leaving around the same time on Tuesday the 12 th. That means we ve got a full 5 day stay in Dublin :) . As for festival meet-up it is we 'll let the locals decide its details. However, we do have CuanaD's contact details at the mo and we will meet with him on Thursday or Friday - anyone interested for an earlier meet up as well, feel free to email me, feline, or ef. ;)
I diddnt know Doves were playing. It would be worth catching them If we can.
Thats a good band to have before newOrder. Attracts the right type of people ![]()
The best thing in Dublin this friday night if you ask me:
Downtownsounds Proudly Presents....
MORGAN GEIST (METRO AREA)
RI-RA, DAME COURT,DUBLIN 2 FRIDAY JULY 8TH DOORS 11.30PM, 7E BEFORE 12 midnight......10 AFTER
DownTownSounds is proud to announce the debut Irish appearance of Environ Records founder Morgan Geist in Ri-Ra. Based in New York, Geist rose to fame with his unique Metro Area project, combining elements of house, techno, electro and disco in an innovative 21st Century fashion. A collection of their work was compiled on Source Records in 2002 and has been licensed for compilations by the likes of Playgroup and Ian Pooley. His profile rose further when Franz Ferdinand commisioned him to remix 'Take Me Out'.
Not a huge fan of flying, Geist rarely DJ's in Europe. He's doing a handful of European dates this summer to promote his 'Unclassics' mix album. It's a rollercoaster ride of obscure European disco and electro-funk, and he has also promised lots of chicago house and early techno. DTS DJ's on the warm up with funk, cosmic boogie and underground disco.

You mean 'might get us away from the bar early'
:D
I have you sorted - you have mail back![]()
Well, we are winding up for the weekend now - the Greek contingent have landed - I spoke to Elias a couple of hours ago & they are already in the Temple Bar area.
(there may be some beer consumed before this weekend is out)

We could have a community signing session in front of the 'Ticket Stage' an hour before NO come on![]()
Better put me down as "doubtful" for this one now - chances are I will be required to work Monday morning, which fucks up my flight back.
Now confirmed that I am going to have to miss this one because of work commitments on the Monday, when I should by rights be enjoying a few pints before getting on the plane back. Bastard. Not my year for seeing the Order, is it?
I will bring my Oxegen ticket along to the Digital gig, if anyone either wants to take it off my hands at a reduced rate or fancies trying to flog it outside the gig.

Are you sure there are no flights that will get you home early enough? I tried to phone you but 'the number you have called is not recognised'. So I emailed you back with my phone number & a ryanair flight possability.
Don't give up too easily - this is the order we are talking about!
Cheers Conrad, but it definitely ain't my year for seeing the Order. Found out five minutes before going on stage last night that my father's just been rushed to hospital, so naturally I will be heading back to Worcester to be at the hospital, and there is no way I am gonna be able to get to Heathrow for the outward flight, let alone a different return flight. Enjoy the gig, I'm sure that they will turn it on for you all.
Sorry to hear about your dad Tim - hope he gets better soon![]()
Sounds (from the other thread) like your gig last night went well anyway
(any bootlegs going?:D )
We'll just have to arrange a Digital gig over here when everything gets back to normal - get you to Dublin somehow
will have some
for you on sunday anyway
Sorry to heard about your Dad Tim. Hope he gets well soon.
I'm just home from the 1st day. Managed to get a weekend media ticket, but not camping (thank heavens). Ian Brown was fantastic. Those Roses songs sounded amazing.
The stage NewOrder are playing is pretty small - but suitable. Headlining it is just about perfect for them - given their Irish fanbase is pretty small. I think it will be a good night tomorrow.
Thanks to Conrad again for the ticket offer. Apologies again for the late notice - I only found out last night I got this pass. I do appriciate the offer Mr Cuana D
Give me a text when you arrive tomorrow on site - I dont think my friends are too keen on NewOrder.
If the Vikings are coming, Please bring and put up the Flag!!! It would be aces to see you people, and unlike Glasto, not many fans have pirate flags out there.
See you tomorrow (or today if you like). Yowza. C
I'm really looking forward to this gig now!
Met up with 'the Greeks' last night - top class - amazed at how good their english is, says so much about our lazyness/school system that we irish can hardly speak our own language & rely on the english instead, while most europeans have 2 or 3 languages:( Anyway, it was a great night with great company - looking forward to more tonight now!!![]()
Same setlist as T in the Park except Love Vigilantes replaced Atmosphere.
(So no slow one's as Jarvo put in the text message)
I would've posted last night - but I was fuckin shattered and had an early night after our journey home from Scotland.
Regret Krafty Crystal Transmission Love Vigilantes WFTSC True Faith BLT LWTUA Temptation
Shes lost Control Blue Monday
Full Review Later. Bernard "If you dont want slow songs, why not head to the foo fighters" (who were headlining the other stage)
I'll type quietly, my head hurts a bit ![]()
That was a GOOD night. The band were on great form & so were the crowd. I traveled with 'The Greeks': Elias (& his sister - a lurker here) & feline; we met up with MYOB at the festival about 4 hours before the gig. Great day - fabulous weather, lots of seriously burned Irish drunks. Made our way to the front as Doves were finishing & got our place near Hooky's mike - about 4 rows back. Then they mooved the mike to our right a couple of yards
, but thats when we saw the Viking contingent - spoke to Clockwork C & John Giles & then the gig started.
Effing brilliant!!! - moshed our little hearts out, screamed every lyric - you know, what we all want from a NO gig
After got introduced to the rest of the viking crowd - names will come back to me eventually
- we all headed back to Dublin to get the
in. - Myself & Ness had been designated drivers so we needed to catch upon the rest.
In the end quiet a few went to bed but me, the greeks, DoN, Ness & one non-nool friend from NorthernIreland ended up in a 'club' called Copper-faced Jacks - music was shite, DJ had no NO, but the beer was good, so me & ness caught up on our drinking anyway.
And thats where I got my Vikings badge!!!!
- thank you DoN- i really feel like a proper part of the community now

Anyways, my head is not clear yet, so i'll post more about the gig later. Just want to say, it was great to finally meet up with all these famous vikings - top men & women every one of them![]()
Tip: if you want to be easilly seen in a festival crowd, wear a BRIGHT GREEN nool t-shirt - it worked for me

And I'd bought mine especially, along with a Hellas baseball cap so I'd be recognised. Ah well.....
