Most of the ones nearby are rather grande, it's on Park Lane . Some on Oxford Street that are probably quite reasonable. I'd stay at the Ibis by Euston if I was going. £55.00 for a  decent double with en suite, straight in off the train.

I work right by Hyde Park and I'd follow Hank's advice - this is an expensive area for hotels. getting something around Euston [or similar] would be a load cheaper and you're less than 10 minutes away by tube.

Try http://http://www.opodo.com if you wanna check a few different hotels out.

A good hotel right by Hyde Park in Leinster Gardens is the Blakemore Hotel - about £70 for a twin room at that time, but it's very close to anywhere around Hyde Park and the bar is open till you drop!

I'm going to have a 26 min tube ride from Wembley Travel Inn just at the bottom of the M1 (Double room £59.95).

I shall be returning to my palatial abode at the end of the evening.
