Quote from Robin Guthrie on a Cocteau Twins forum. Top man for saying his piece.

We have had no rehearsal, nor discussed a setlist nor have seen each other since the first and only meeting, six weeks ago, when we committed to doing the coachella show. We were due to start rehearsing this week, but, well, now we will not. I feel for every person who is, well, completely fucked off about this, because, well, you know what? I am extremely fucked off as well....With the exception that I didn't buy tickets, book international travel or any of the other things that will be thrown around in the forecoming debacle about, reasons, who's fault it is, why, etc etc... wtf? Well it certainly makes me feel nostalgic for those days in '97, the first time I felt that I had found out I was no longer necissary...... it's such a nice way to enter springtime.... My gratitude goes out to all those who have put so much effort into this project behind the scenes, people like Marc Geiger, Brian Ahern, Paul Tollett, Heidi Robinson, Colin Wallace and countless others, as there has been much effort by everyone involved.... I should say no more for the moment, except to again express my apologies to everyone who has lost out on this...Well, I guess that's most of us really.....

"we're in the same place at the same time dealing honestly with how we feel and who we really are"

OK, I guess that applies to how a lot of us feel right now...."

...you should see the Cocteau's fans laying in to poor old Elizabeth. "Selfish bitch" is the most common response.#

And you thought 4AD buffs were all shrinking violets.....

Interesting to note, the majority of the people who seem to post over there have never actually SEEN the Cocteau Twins but they're their favourite band, like, ever in the whole wide world cos they heard Lorelei in 2001, or whatever.

Bit like Smiths fans.

Actually, and Joy Division fans! :evil4:

Have you ever caught the Cocteaus live Al ??

I have once and they were strangely hypnotic.

Outdoors...under a sunset would have been nice

One of my most mind-blowing experiences was walking into a Cocteaus gig late at Brixton Academy in the early 90's. Eubank had been fighting someone and we'd watched the fight's conclusion in some bar nearby then missed most of their set. It was mental. Like walking into a full-on rave, smoke machine and lasers and the heat turned up full blast. Couldn't get much further than 2m inside the back doors and the placed was rammed like I've never seen the Academy. Met a tall Kiwi girl at the gig that night who pulled a knife on me (charming!) and we ended up going out for three months and are still mates to this day. Ah, memories.

Why Pablo then?!
