If the lackluster ticket sales for the 4,000 seat Aragon are any indication, NewOrder might be feeling the effect of ignoring their North American fanbanse in their pocketbooks. I am a frequent poster at another Chicago message board and when I posted that tickets were on sale, a lot of people were surprised that they were still around and thought they never toured the states. A lot of people have seemed to have given up on the band, which is rightfully so, because they have paid little if no attention to their audiences in the states.
If you think about it...most fans will buy 2 tickets...one for themself and another for a friend that might not be a "superfan", like us...so, NewOrder couldn't even muster 2,000 fans in the Chicago area to "pony-up" and buy a ticket to their monumental show for the ages and that is including all the crazy asses that are traveling from all over the globe to see these guys play in the crap-hole Aragon Ballroom.
I have even told a lot of my friends about this show and I am sure many of you have done the same and they have all purchased multiple tickets as well...The signs are all there, Neworder is slipping...they better start marketing themselves a little better otherwise they will be playing the local pubs like "The English Beat" are presently doing...
I am just a little worried about the show not selling out....They will certainly never want to return to Chicago if they don't get a sell-out for this show, otherwise, it would be a waste of effort on their part.
