Chicago show is now SOLD OUT!

Well, it's about time.

I am surprised it took as long as it did (about three-and-a-half weeks if my math skills still work), but a sell-out hopefully helps convince them to come back to Chicago when they tour for the next album.

What is the max. capacity of said venue?

(To get their the earliest to muscle you fuckers out of a good spot )

I believe they are playing at the Aragon... which is a great venue. I saw Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Gahan, and Morrissey there. Can't wait for the show. I was wondering if it WOULD be sold out. I am rather happy that it is.

I'm seriously surprised: the NYC gig selling out in minutes, and now filling a 5000 capacity venue in Chicago....??

Is this Stateside interest simply due the fact that they haven't played much over the pond since 1993, or does it tie in to the fact that all the whippersnappers that the NME is getting all excited about are constantly namedropping the Order? Or perhaps the audience has always been there - I got sent an Electronic interview from around the time of "Raise the pressure" recently where Barney says the '89 US tour was the third highest grossing of the year, coming after (summat like) U2 and the Rolling Stones!!!

True about publicity here in Chicago. I found out through this website. However, there is a radio station that has Krafty on heavy rotation here, as well as the older NO songs like BLT and Love Vigs. W-XRT 93.1. They were in fact promoting this show. So I'm glad someone was.

Although the NYC venue is half the size of the Chicago one (Hammerstein Ballroom is only 2700 places, hence why it sold out so fast)...

So the half the size venue sold out in half an hour. shouldnt a double the size venue taken only an hour and not 3 1/2 weeks??

47 dollars, its a tuesday night, at a place with a bad rep. for sound, no promotions, and in the same week 2 sold out nine inch nail shows, a sold out weezer show, sold out garbage show, sold out ben folds show (same night as new order and a block down), 2 sold out erasure shows, it's not that shocking. im sure NY will have a lot of shows that same week as well, but it's also on a thursday night, which is just as busy for bars, clubs, and venues as a friday or saturday.

Ha... I'm going to the first Erasure show ( and the Moby show ) as well as the NO show, all in the span of two weeks.

So many shows, and so little time.

I have my priorities so had to go to the New Order show.

Milwaukee ain't too far from Chicago but I didn't see any promotions for the show here.

I would think that the primary reason for the sell-outs are that they haven't played the States that much. Many fans have probably never seen them live, or at most once or twice.

Regardless if you like Q101 in Chicago or not, a few weeks ago I said I emailed a few radio stations and asked them to add New Order to their Concert Hotlines.

Q101 emailed me back March 22nd and they did add them to their List.

I think a lot of New Order like myself listen to Q101 over XRT. I appreciate XRT doing the show and playing Krafty in heavy rotation, but it's just not a station I listen to very often.

Here is part of the email I received from Q101 and a link to their concert list. I have to believe they maybe helped get the word out and helped create this sellout.
