Ok, I asked yesterday, the show is in 3 weeks and they still don't know what the support will be...

So, either we'll have local groups, either they are trying to find a decent support act that will benefit from New Order.

Oakland has the Chemical Brothers, Hyde Park has Moby... so what will it be in Chicago/NYC?

Bets are opened! I believe if they ever get another UK acts that might benefit from New Order's fans to break it in the US, you have to look at the Coachella line-up.

I was thinking about Doves, but they are busy at those dates... there is Bloc Party which is available and just released their album.

Any other bets?

i'd prefer no opening band. just new order. i'd like it best if doors opened at 6pm, random dj from 645-745 and new order from 815-10:15. chicago has a 11pm curfew for all ages shows, so there has to be an opening act cause new order won't play for over 2 and 1/2 hrs. so i'd guess some shit band on warners roster that they want to get more exposure decided by warner.

I know New York wouldn't concern me....I'm seeing NO in Oakland...but according to Ticketmaster, support for the NYC show is...."Dragonette" (???).

I don't know the rest of the Interpol band member's opinions on New Order, but I recall an interview where Carlos D mentioned that the rest of the band were resistant to listening to JD because of all the comparisons.

i don't know who Dragonettes are but i know that Assassins (who support at the aragon ballroom show on may 3rd) come from chicago.they were signed to arista records and recorded a full length with the one and only stephen hague.they have a website WWW.ASSASSINS.COM
and you can listen to two tracks on their MYSPACE site... WWW.MYSPACE/ASSASSINS p.s.they have been around longer than the killers and supposedly had something to do with getting the killers their record deal. p.p.s.i heard that they got the support because n.o. liked the assassins record
