My wife and I will be there!!! Driving from Houston!! Can you recommend any hotels around the venue?
Jason...how much are you wanting to spend for the hotel???
The Driskill is right around the corner...maybe a minute or two walking...it's very nice, but a bit expensive...somewhere around $200 a night...
If you are looking for something a bit more economical, there is a La Quinta on 11th street that is about a half mile away from the venue...goes for around $90 a night...
If you want to take a look at all the hotels in the area, the venues address is
214 E. 6th Street Austin, TX 78701
Thanks the La Quinta sounds pretty good. Where is everyone meeting up? Thanks for the venue address.
not sure about a pre-set meet up just yet...still trying to figure out just who the hell is going from the friends that I have invited...but stay tuned...
once I am exactly sure who all we have showing up, I'll see what we can come up with!!!
Ok Hotel is set, Tickets are taken care of, Thanks again Spoot you the man!!!! READY TO {PARTY!!!

First let me thank Spotnick for hooking up the tickets for the show, I was on the list no problem getting in or nothing, I felt like a big shot, my wife was impressed as well. Thanks again.
50 miles into our trip from Houston to Austin my wife looks at me and says, ohhh did you bring the camera? Yea so no camera.
What a GREAT show. The venue was not packed about 50 people showed. Hooky came out about 30 minutes before his set and just hung out, it was GREAT, I went over and said hello introduced him to my wife, what a great guy No picture but I got an Autograph!!!. I told him to play some Digital, or Warsaw. He laughed. He was dressed really cool/normal which was great. He was wearing a black Addidas logo shirt with what appeared to be some type of Khaki knee shorts, white socks with tan ankle boots. Something you would see some normal dude wearing.
Of course he opened with "Love will tear us apart" mixed with "Love will Keep us together" The middle of the set was a bunch of techno type style music it was ok, I waited for him to play some JD/NO material.
he played some of my favorite NO songs from the Substance album, great album. "Kiss of Life" "Temptation" He also played 2 of the KILLERS songs. "I got soul but I'm not a solldier" It was cool the whole time he was mixing he was sort of dancing and moving with the music, It was cool to see that. Instead you just have some DJ's just standing there doing nothing.
I consider an honor to have met the man who was down form day one and revolutionized New Waves transition from Punk. Can't wait for the US TOUR
