I have remained quite quiet so far. I have read all the info re Wednesday night and I am now probably in for a great deal of 'criticism'. I thought JD were OK, but I went to the John Peel 'do' to see New Order, and only New Order, so I feel a bit cheated to be honest. And Frank. (Who?)Apart from Misty in Roots, it was dire. The evening as a whole was a great night, a real laugh. Anyway, just so you don't think I'm a boring moaning cow........... Hum Guilt is a Useless Emotion.....

Just another day in the week, waiting for a drunken Viking to puke in front of me Maybe I am losing my mind Searching for the Mulberry Bush and to get there on time... Long hair can't be grown, it is real and it can't be bought NO Chants can be heard Throughout the Super Furred( yes I know it's bad!) I need a badge (I'll even buy it) I need a drink (I'll even buy it) I need the loo (can you help me find it) I need a smoke (but don't let me buy it) Venetian Snares (Something that you gotta know) Venetian Snares (We all want you to go) Misty in Roots (The only band that I could stand) Misty in Roots (the ONLY other decent band)

Standing in the lower stalls Thinking of the Joy Division you're singing out to me I sure drink a lot for a girl You brought the old times back, I fell on my back Fell asleep with SFA It was way beyond my control Woke up for the N.O But the wares had taken their toll

I need the bar (can you help me find it) 'Your're in the Bar' (that's why it's so quiet) Are they on yet (how can you not know it) Did you see Lamarr (he's such a smug git) What do they mean (there's no New Order) 'Will you shut up' (I just want to hear it) I'm gonna sulk (for a WHOLE 20 minutes) I need the loo (will you help me find it)

There's more, but hey, I won't let you suffer any longer - it was a really good night and I particularly enjoyed Shes Lost Control, it has much poignancy (probably misspelt that)and I have a 'pin' that I will treasure for evermore.....aaahhhh:ignore:

Cheated!? But you SAW New Order and that's the only thing that matters. Think about it this way, you were lucky to get a chance to hear some stuff they've not played in years and not some predictable set list (tis in Diggy Mike's voice, btw) ;) So, my point is: you can always play your records at home but this is something you don't get to see/hear every day. Well I guess some people just don't realize how lucky they are ...

Well I wouldn't say lucky!! If I'd used my brain, I should have realised I suppose. Never mind; 'till the next time. Meantime, I need to justify just how much dosh I spent on the tickets to him indoors.......................... Mean meantime, whooppee!!!! Looking good!

Sorry - should have added - I really just wanted them to play something that meant something to me - selfish I know; shame they didn't do requests!:\ohwell:

As far as I'm concerned they could play fookin Guilt 10 times in a row and I'd still enjoy it. How odd, normally that song just freaks me out :D

Wino - think of it this way... In a few years when you've seen New Order a few more times and enjoyed the various tracks that mean something to you (we all have our faves) you'll look back on the Peel gig and be able to say, 'I remember them playing Shadowplay, Warsaw, etc.'

Be happy that you were present at a historical event, that you met some cool people, and look forward to the next New Order gig :thumb:

I have, I have!!!!!!! Just didn't know of this site. Anyway, I may remember some of the night - one thing I do want to know though, which has been bugging me - who the hell dropped a little pink 'capsule' into my drink - cos I know someone did!!!!!

It wasn't me.

What exactly happened?

Well, high one minute, asleep the next that type of thing there's loads more, but have you ever heard the saying "too much detail"? and I am highly embarrassed. Had results from some routine blood etc tests on Monday (which I had Thursday) - that's how I know. If my dippy mate had come after all on Wed night, and not hubby, I would still be found somewhere in the inner walls of the QEH wandering about like a **** Still, alls wall that ends wall. So, not happy at all, not a very funny prank in my opinion.

Nowt to do with me, I can assure you. Never even seen any pink capsules, let alone touched them. Not part of my world, which doesn't get past alcohol.

Ditto (just going on medical info rec'd)

thats fookin awful that.

I've never heard of 'pink capsules'

I presume you mean in the Mulberry as that makes it even more odd. Apart from the NOOL lot there werent many others there.

Strangely enough, I don't think it was the pub. I remember everything that happened there and Andy was there by my drink etc if I went to the loo - but we both did at one point take a phone call outside; but I am still convinced it wasn't the pub; it was an hour or two later that the brain went loopy loo. (I don't know how long these things take though......) Oh, I don't know it's driving me mad to be honest. I just feel such a prat. And annoyed. Ashamed, and deeply embarrassed.

i'm assuming the pink capsules were roofies? christ.

p.s. don't be embarrassed. might've been some prat you bumped into anywhere at the pub or the QEH who decided to slip you one, then noticed you were with your man. you'd be surprised how often this happens.

Are you kidding? Why though? What's the point?

I thought that was a powder, but WTF do I know about that shite?

Wino, dont be embarrassed, someone was behaving like a right cnut then, should be locked up.

I am embarrassed. I sneaked a curry into the hotel, ate it out of the foil things with a teaspoon. Then I knocked the whole lot over............ I am a Mother with 2 kids for Christ's sake! Oh, yeah, and a New Order fan. S'pose the 2 can't mix. Alcohol and 'pink things' (Doc's words not mine) don't!

God, I don't need pink capsules or any other drug to make me sneak food into hotels...

I've heard of people having stuff dropped into their drinks, but never been in a pub where it's happened... it's a sobering thought...

I work in Sexual Health clinics and the incidences of women coming in to be tested simply because they think someone spiked their drinks is on the increase. Our advice is ALWAYS report it to the police, NEVER leave your drink unattended unless it's with someone you know well and trust and if in doubt, leave the drink and buy another instead.

Thank God you had yer hubby with you. I reckon other NOOLers would have looked out for you otherwise, but it just goes to show that we should ALL look out for each other - male and female when we're out and about.

Well Wino, very glad that you're okay and got home safely. Let's hope everyone here, especially the women, take extra care when out drinking.

Yeah, definitely don't be embarassed about it.

Anyone who spikes a drink is a complete cnut, IMHO, regardless of the motive, and deserves (as Barney Army said) to be locked up, and the key thrown away...
