I am a Mother with 2 kids for Christ's sake! Oh, yeah, and a New Order fan. S'pose the 2 can't mix. Alcohol and 'pink things' (Doc's words not mine) don't!
A word of probably obvious advice; never let a stranger buy you a drink, unless you are standing next to him/her and you can see the drink at all times until you take posession of it.
Even after that you have to be careful; don't leave your drink unattended if you nip off to the ladies; take with you if necessary; unless you are with someone you know and trust who can keep an eye on it.
I've drilled this advice into my wife's mind for when she's 'out with the girls' as I've seen what can happen to people (as like Chris i've spent time working in sexual health).
Sorry to hear about all this thou' and I very much doubt it was one of us; stick close to the well known Vikings next time and i'm sure all will be well!
Best wishes and thank God nothing worse happened!
I had a similar experience a few years ago, when I was out with my mate Melanie (who a few of you on here have met). We were drinking in the Old Monk down Horseferry Road, a Friday lunchtime that got extended indefinitely, and while I was on the pints, Mel was on the alcopoop thingys, and had stocked them up on our table. Some guys were sat at the next table and were doing the usual banter shite that accompanies anyone who sees a six foot blonde with no danger of drowning and no danger of covering them up, we thought nothing of it. I decided to switch to the breezers after a while, and nabbed one of her bottles that was on the desk. Suffice to say that two bottles had been spiked, both of us had one.

Good point, but my drink is never in the glass long enough to give anyone the chance to spike it! ![]()

or if you're in an unknown pub, take it into the loo with you and put it on top of the toilet paper dispenser. ![]()

Very true Christy, but for the lads, make sure that your aim is accurate, otherwise you'll really be 'taking the piss'.
Best thing is to make sure that you and your mates keep an eye on each others drinks at all times and NEVER go home with someone you don't trust 100%
Damn, I really wish this subject didn't come up, but I hope a few people are thinking a bit more about what they do at pubs, clubs and gigs. NOOL is more than just a 'community' - more like a loose 'family' and I'm sure that all of us would be dismayed if any individual suffered.
Let's just do the 'family' thing and look after each other ![]()

It's half-midnight on a Sunday night and I'm half-cut, but those are wise and heartfelt words, mate.
