Fcuk it, it's not happening, which is a shame, but there's been rumours circling Vikingland of a "special" "hush-hush" "warm-up" show at the Academy next Tuesday.

I know a couple of regular posters (and Vikings) who were itching for the announcement to be made. Would've been by far the smallest of the UK gigs announced.

Sadly, it ain't happening. Andy Rob mailed JG this morning with the news. But who would've rushed to get tickets if it had gone ahead? Biggie was talking of a 2hr blast down the motorway, Gordie was flying up from Bournemouth for a fiver or summat, I'm fcut for hols but was gonna fly to Glasgee at 4pm, then back at 6am the next morning.

And everyone stopping over at Jonathan Scott's! :thumb:

Would've been nearly as good as Wolves Civic! :evil4:

I'd have made it up there :thumb:

I'm seeing a friend in York monday night, so that would've made the travelling easier.

Although, if I needed a ticket and it was being sent from seetickets .com via special mail services who are fucking up my Brixton ticket delivery, I wouldn't be there.

Seetickets are making ticketmaster look professional

As the protege, i would have been obliged to go. Not to gutted, as it would have been a logistical nightmare. More money for London and Manc now!

I was half-way there in my mind - spent yesterday afternoon trying work out how to get up there and back with work at either end - was looking at train personally. I know it takes longer but I'm only 10 mins from Euston, whereas I'm 1hr+ from Stanstead ( without checking in !). I figured a 2pm train would get me there in time ( checked out the venue in relation to Central station - 10 mins walk) and the last train back is 23:40pm, which would crawl back to London for 7am - and then straight to the office!

Could've done it and would have! - but I'd prefer a bit more notice, and next week is a particularly heavy week at work - so am actually feeling relieved that it's not on ( for now ? )

...but if it's the week after, or the week after that???...

Has this been officially announced, are you the ordained one? When are you going to be allowed onto recording?

OM would have been in the area!

Pish, I was kind of looking forward it although I assumed it was going to be at the Barrowlands as with the 2001 gigs but obviously not to be at any venue now. Any idea why it was canned Al? Not enough interest or something? I'm sure they would've been able to sell out a Scottish show in relatively quick time :(

Ah well, more money for Manchester as Liam says...

'Course they would've sold out, the lazy, idle sell-out cunts. WHY DO WE BOTHER?

No. Cash flow problem.

I might have had my arm twisted to go.

So if this was to be the warm up for Brixton, then is Brixton the warm up for Manchester?

I like it better when they don't warm up at all..........

It's only 1500 cap, isn't it? Think the logistics of getting it up and running in such a short time were cutting it too fine. Summat like that. Wasn't even gonna get advertised, just word of mouth. I'd been refreshing ticketweb constantly expecting it to suddenly pop-up! Oh well, never mind, saves me half a day's hols.

Glasgow would have been extremely difficult, as I'm in Hinckley all next week (Brixton is bad enough, about 5+ hours worth of travelling, after a full days course!)...

It would mainly have depended on available flights/travel from Hinckley to Glasgow - probably via Birmingham (if such flights exist?)...

Ah well, can save some cash for other things, although those potential Guilt US Promo CDR's might bugger that up, though... :banghead:

Yes would have made the effort for this definitely. Return flights from Ryanair only cost £38. May have ended up staying till Thursday morning though as Celtic are playing Rangers on Wednesday in the League Cup at Paradise.
