No Steve, London & Manchester won't be on the cards i'm afraid. Would love to be going to the Manc gig but its too short notice :uhoh:

Makin it to manc is gonna fuck me up in all sorts of ways, but I've gone past caring.

I should mention, that I can take one of you mainlanders on my sofa if you're coming over for this one. It'll be particularly handy for those travelling out of belfast city airport, cos I'm 2 mins from the train, which gets you right to the airport in like 20 mins.

Is this still on? And I repeat my offer that I can take an out of towner for the night as long as they don;t mind a very comfy couch.

Well I'm going to be on the orange juice or coke or whatever non-booze I can actually afford to drink, after Manchester I'm taking the pledge (on gig night anyway). SO that's be TWO sober people in Lavery's then.

Hoping I can get him to sign my saville show cd for my sister who couldn't do apollo on account making baby new order fans.

Think I might drive up this one aswell, heading out early on the Saturday for the Belfast Beer Festival.

You still heading to this one Steve

Hell yeah, gonna be a good little boy, listen to the nice music and get the last train home. Gonna see if i can get 'im to sign me community CD, and me saville show one for me wee sis who was far too preganant for the apollo :) he does play some very good tunes too so he does. IF he dares drop "strings of life" Belfast wont know what's hit it.

Only thing I'm trying to work out is what to drink, what's cheap and doesn;t get you pissed, but isn;t water.

It's kinda handy for me, i live like 100 yrds from bangor station, wander on train, and off at botanic and it's only round the corner. What time you heading? I'm sort of hoping it's not too mad, but lavery's is always mad on a friday night.

What time do you think Steve, wonder what would be the best time to get Hookys sig.

I honestly dunno, I can't see him clockin in the bar all evening waiting his turn, more likely he'll show up just before his time, do his thing and then stick around for a bit of a larf. I'd almost say "wait til he sticks a long record on, then present him with a nice fresh glass of whatever he's tippling". One thing I want nothing to do with is the man beig mobbed or harrassed, if theres a crowd of pissheads round him I'll probably not even approach. It's not so much about me wanting the sig, as it is about looking him in the eye and saying thanks for all the beautiful basslines, and for teaching me we weren;t just meant to stand here going dum dum dum. Hell I may even give the guy a cd with a few slightlynarrow tunes on it so he can see that people have taken what he does and done their own thing with it, tho more likely he'd love Rich's bonusbeat insanities more. The only thing that would dissuade me from that is communication. I'd hate for him to think I was thrusting him a demo and saying "please Mr Hook get us a deal". If I can't make it clear that the spirit of the thing is "sod all the wassacks on the telly citing you as an influence cos it's cool, here's some music that would REALLY NOT HAVE EXISTED but for you and those other nutters, take it home wrap yer ears round it and I hope you like it". I reckon there's no greater compliment to a musician than knowing they caused more music to be made.

But if everyone's tearing at him like a bit of meat, I'm not gonna be part of that, he aint Britney and i aint 14 :) I'm kinda hoping that sober and plite will be a novelty on the night so he'll be pleased to see me :)

Kinda lookin like just you, me and the usual lavery's crowd then mate.

Mr Owens, you putting in an appearance?

Where'd Shelly get to?

No Dublin Order( I'm sure that's written on a wall inbelfast somewhere), no English Order? I know it's only a DJ set, but I still thoguht we could pull together a decent posse. :(

I'd have loved to be there Steve, but its no3's 3rd birthday, so I won't be leaving the Pale this Friday! Enjoy yerselves, & tell Hooky he's a God. Hope he plays the 'gracejones/monaco shes lost control' - its great & will totally piss off the punters:thumb:

You have 3? and No3 is comin 3?

Fuck me man, you didn't look THAT haggard :)

Kinda hoping he doesn;t weigh in and start too late, like cinderella I gotta go at like 23:15, unless I get rich twixed now and then and suddenly can afford a joe baxi.

EDIT: Someone should warn him I'll go off like a supernova if he plays "strings of life".....and if I drag my cohort Mr R. Hayes along, he'll be worse. Only ever heard the short set he did for XFM on Hyde park day, bloody good it was too.

Its in the middle bar Christopher. I'm still not 100% sure if i'll be there or not but i'll be wearing a black New Order t-shirt and i'll probably be standing like a gimp with my pastic carrier bag with Retro Box Set & Singles

And I'll have me "curtis coat" and vikings badges on, and be lookin really nervy :)

20 years( and then some) you wait....then see the fooker twice in 2 weeks WTF.

i was thinking we should give 'im a Xmas card from the NI-Order :) (we could include directions and contact details for the Ulster hall, just in case :) )

If I pluck up the courage I'll post the pic of me from manc.

Love is: yer GF ringing you up to say "how come u said u had to get the last rain home, I'll lend you 20 bills so u can stay a bit later"

:)

I don't deserve her.

Mind you, weather keeps up like this, he'll be stuck at the airport on the far side again :(

Its fecking shite at the min Steve, probably be worse tomorrow too.

Me bro's a total flight sim junkie, I'm quite sure I'll know the moment any airports start closing :)

Jesus, I hope poor Hooky doesn't get stranded on the way BACK, that'd be grim, stuck in belfast.

Mr Owens, I heard u have a really good lookin mate called Michael, Is it true he looks like Jim Morrison??

What time do you think you'll get into Belfast tonight Steve.

Probably 9-ish (train at 8:20). Does that sound reasonable? I seem to recall the front of lavery's is often a scrum on a firday night, hope that doesn't kick off til later :)

You need a copy of Mike's Brixton CD? I think I could arrange that.
