I doubt they counted their 2001 show in Liverpool to say second time in 20 years...

YEEEES. might do this instead of spain as i am skint and spain will completely break me (though i'm still on the fence about it). of course, if this wasn't on i'd do spain as some new order is in order. but this is wonderful news. :)

i'm a little uneasy about it being less than 24 hours before the World Cup Final.I like to kind of prepare and gear up for a day or two before that

Perfect - just before a couple of scousers (Rooney, Gerrard) lead England's Captain Gary Neville (Beckham suspended an act of stupidity in the semi final and Owen injured quelle dommage) to pick up the trophy...

to think perchance to dream...

but get the fcuk in

Does anybody know if they are the headliners for this gig? I am not sure if I am ready to jump across the pond if it is going to be a short set.

It looks like they are headlining. It's one night in a series of 20. New Ordr has a nice slot between JB and Jim Kerr:

Oscar Peterson - 1st July 2006 Whitesnake - 3rd July 2006 The Who - 5th July 2006 The Who - 6th July 2006 James Brown - 7th July 2006 New Order - 8th july 2006 Simple Minds - 10th July 2006 Ronan Keating - 14th July 2006 A-Ha - 16th July 2006 Westlife - 17th July 2006 Simply Red - 18th July 2006 Simply Red - 19th July 2006 Sugababes - 20th July 2006 Il Divo - 21st July 2006 Bryan Adams - 23rd July 2006

Brixton's all standing though. It's gotta be twice the size if it's all seated.

Just means the peasants at the back will av' to shout more!

Is it all seated? that spoils a lot of the fun doesn't it?

4500 to be exact according to the site, looks quite nice for a tent! Pity no standing though, but what can you do, it's still a NO gig!

Been on site. And they're asking £32 which was the going price at the Apollo last November. SEATED??? This calls for pretending it's a Steve Foster boxing match at the NEC and remove some seats!!:evil4:

Peter Kay's just been on TV at Summer Pops last year. Definitely all seated. Looks like a huge venue too. Not sure what Barney's gonna sound like in there...!

Hi everyone

I work at CMP who are promoting this gig in Liverpool - I'm also a huge New Order fan so don't worry this is all honest info and not an attempt at hard sell!

I thought I could clear up a few things that people seem to be unsure about:

  • I did count the 2001 Liverpool show when saying it was only their second gig in the city for twenty years! I'm pretty sure they played the Royal Court in '86 but I don't recall any other times! Apologies if I'm wrong!

  • New Order are deffo headling - full set. There will be a support act but I'm not sure who yet - as soon as I know I'll post it on here.

  • Capacity of the 'Big Top Arena' is 4,500. It is all seated - however it is not like Old Trafford! I have been to many gigs there and the atmosphere is amazing and people are fine to stand at their seats. The fact it's indoor does create an itimacy which is suprising - don't worry. It is non smoking but I supose we'll all have to get used to that one.

  • Prices: £23.50 (restricted view eg: right at the back) £28.50 (low) £32.50 (mid) £42.50 (Gold Circle - these are right at the front - amazing view)

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 21st April.

Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.co.uk): 0870 151 4000 Ticketline (www.ticketline.co.uk): 0151 256 5555 See Tickets: 0871 220 0260 Liverpool Direct: 0151 233 3007

There are links on the cmp website to the agency sites - I would recommend buying online as they get more tickets.

I hope that clears a few things up: if you have any other questions post them on here and I'll try and answer them.

All the best

How close will the VIP holders be to the gold circle?

VIP tickets are distributed throughout the Gold Circle area rather than in a solid block at the front. They tend to sell out less quickly than the Gold Circle tickets as well.

Cheers for the info Jamie!

Right, fook the £160-70 VIP ticket, plain old golden circle will do me! :D

Much more affordable.
