Just wondering, are those fuckers ever going to play in Canada again? I saw them in 1986 or so, and wow, they sucked giant phalusses. The stereotypical British snotty, too cool for words attitude. But...I've watched the dvd 511 several times and again, wow, its as if they got older, heavier and learned how to have fun on stage. They are playing great and seem to be having a great time. This band I want to see. And its not the Joy Division songs (which are great to hear). They are just so clearly having FUN! Fun is good.

Dear New Odor,

Please come play Canadia because I saw you once and you sucked giant phalluses. I don't think you will this time, but it's been 5 years since your last tour of my country and we miss you. My backyard is long and spacious (like a giant phallus), so please come play here. I cannot afford plane fare to the Motherland like everyone else. Errr...God bless the Queen and go Oilers!

Yours, etc.,

I gotta put my 2¢, being Canadian and all, eh!

I know what you mean, the first time I saw the Order was in Toronto in Aug 93, and they definitely weren't happy. Barney seemed to be having a miserable time, and just seemed to want to get out of there. Minimal audience interaction. Hooky was the only one trying to entertain the crowd. And go figure, shortly after, thet took that looong hiatus for over 5 years.

I saw them again coming out of hiatus in 98, travelled all the way to England to see them in London and Manchester over New Year's because I could not be sure if they would ever play again together. Much improved. The gig on new Year's eve especially totally rocked, Ceremony live sent a tingle down my spine, something I will never forget (you can catch snippets of it on the bonus section of the 5 11 DVD)

And then in Vancouver and the Gorge near Seattle in 2001 for the Get Ready tour, wow, I couldn't believe my eyes, Barney was totally happy and into it, completely re-invigorated.

And then I saw them in Chicago in 2004, they absolutely rocked!

And now I look forward to catching 2 shows this fall, London and Wolverton in October. i hope and pray they come back to Canada some day, but I don't want to take any chances, so off to the UK I go this fall! Any other canucks making the trip?

Anyway, Barney especially has completely changed since the first time I saw them. He has gone from being a miserable grouch to trying his best to entertain the crowd.

cheers,

Rob
