Well, wasn't that good or what? Hooky ended up playing (or more like jumping around and pretending to do actual DJ work) for two hours in a row, more than we expected. Gotta love the bastard for giving us a good show with all those mule kicks and "wave your arms in the air" cliches - partly tongue in cheek, partly all from the heart. He flirted with some women during the set (pointing at my sister during the "now i feel you've left me standing" line of True Faith and so on). It was much more interesting to watch than Arthur Baker's set that preceded the Hookster, since Hooky does DJ gigs with the same attitude as when doing the typical NO gigs. The whole "Hacienda soundsystem" thing just meant that they projected some Hac-style industrial things, and both DJ gigs were then obviously more marketable as well.
Baker didn't play much of his old crowd pleasers; I only heard Put The Needle To The Record and Play At Your Own Risk in there. He closed with PAYOR and then Hooky took the stage. They had messed around with the schedules, some said Hooky would start at 11.30 pm, but he actually started an hour earlier. The stuff he played was probably the same he plays elsewhere: starting off with the Vikings theme dance remix and then playing the more modern dance stuff along with NO remixes - Krafty, BLT, Confusion, the WFTSC megamix and then the Chems' Out Of Control. Obviously building up for the rock part of the set, which started with Anarchy In The UK. Then London Calling, Transmission, LWTUA (with the string quartet version mixed in, and silent bits in the chorus for us to fill with our out-of-tune singing). The Mondays' 24 HPP was there too, as was a remix of BM and the originals of Crystal and Regret. Then he put the Vikings theme on and was ready to leave, but we pestered him for an encore and eventually he came and put the original mix of True Faith on. Absolutely crowd-pleasing stuff and I loved every minute of it. 
The place wasn't the best possible, we had stay behind a small festival fence instead of being close to the decks. And there wasn't that many people dancing either, I could see about 40 people moshing and shaking their asses in there. But that's fucking Finland for you! Those that did move around enjoyed themselves a lot though.
Didn't stick around after the set because me and my sis were pretty knackered, so we don't know if Hooky stayed in the area afterwards or not. We didn't see Sarge there either. I did meet Jukka and some other fans were present as well, but eventually didn't bother talking to them, too feckin tired after two hours of jumping around. Still don't know why Hooky picked 3v's Blue Monday for Community 2 (something I should've tried to find out) but Mr. 3v told me that he'd prefer that to stay as a secret anyway.
Got to thank Hooky for doing this to us though, it's unlikely to see the Order in Finland ever again so this gig was the next best thing. He's welcome here again, hopefully at a better time of the year because yesterday was like a typical UK night with pissing rain and all. 
What a great review from you No More F’ing Saudade. That was the gig about. This has been great autumn, first Wembley arena gig, then Blue Saturday party and now Hooky in my home town. First I decided to take this gig easy but I couldn’t help my self, so many New Order and Joy Division songs and there I was again jumping around. Hooky didn’t stayed in the area afterwards. He left right after gig with winter coat :) on. I managed to say thanks to him before he left.
