Was strange to be leftfield for a change.
Took some great pictures and even a couple of videos that I posted on Bebo.
Johnny is still the man. Just gets the job done, no messing.
Rediculous number of guitars and pedals. Mostly Fender Jags (why have so many of the same type of guitar?), a Tele and the obligatory Rickenbacker 12, which he plays on Missed the Boat (but which was sadly turned down too low - I'd have liked to hear it dominate the mix on that track).
Almost a shame to concentrate on one member of a very good band. Would have liked to rewind and concentrate on the singer a bit more. And the bassist was doing some great work. But I'm afraid it was Johnny all the way for me.
Funnily enough, the only thing I can remember about the night now is the girl in the support band's pop socks!
Couldn't work out whether she had no rhythm at all, or just thought it would sound better if she came in half a beat later than the rest of the band. And the audience.
Their bassist was excellent though. Walking bass lines rock.

That bloke stood in front of us looked like Matt Johnson though.
He looked round when I said The The as well.
I'm gonna tell people it was him

Too chuffin true. First time I rehearsed with Badly Drawn Bastard Damon Gough in MArch '94 I played Hey Joe and he loved it. 9 month later he sacked me. No word of a lie guys.

I checked them out at Glasto this year. Friday morning , pissing rain, but it was the first time I'd seen JM live since 87, I think, Preston Guild, went off after first song???
Anyway, your right, he was too cool, still works the guitar so well. Dashboard melted but we still had the radio!!!!!!

i heard modest mouse playing that single at glaso from outside my tent when i got up,couldnt be bothered rushing down there though.i thought that was on saturday morning though? 
Just got an email about more dates on the US tour - they're playing just about every town in fancy America!
Wish I could go over and catch one. I'll be in Florida for New Year so here's hoping they extend by a couple more! Disney World on New Year's Eve would be good. Not too far-fetched, I saw Huey Lewis and the News there once you know.
Maybe a couple more UK dates before Marr leaves (well, he's bound to, innee?).

They were on t'other stage just after Th Reverand and His Makers. They rocked too
