A mere £37.50 to see some drunk old men run through some fairly mediocre songs and some cover versions. Might as well go to a covers night at Bakers Vault in Stockport.

Ditto.

Will Johnny Rotten be eating kangaroo testicles live on stage?

I'd prefer PIL too. But Virgin ain't sponsoring 'em, they bust all their money on the Spice Girls.

Worry not if you want to go to this and it sells out in minutes (as it will) - they are doing 3 nights in total (they just haven't told anyone yet!).

And I will second the comments about their '96 tour, saw them at Phoenix Festival, very VERY powerful live, still one of my all time gigs.

well i did also think that having grown up listening to them, that a gig on the doorstep would be good, even if they are bad it will be something to remember! managed to get tickets only for the site to hang up at the confirmation stage...dont you just hate that? then it wouldnt let me get any more as it already had my card details.....never did receive confirmation...oh well it is the night before the Verve....go and see them instead...

At least some of us try to live up to punk principles.

I was ermm, in a hotel in Croydon waiting for someone to ermm turn up about 1am back in c.2002/3, when suddenly a load of snarling forty-somethings with dyed red hair gatecrashed the bar pushing people about. After emptying the place except for me, I ended up talking to em, and they'd been to see the Pistols at Crystal Palace.

What was hilarious was that most of these snarling old punks were now stockbrokers living in big houses in Surrey.

Shame really. Look at Johnny himself. The man has real estate business, owns a TV cable, poses with models on a deserted island and has enough impudence to sing pistols songs that he swore he would never do. I wish they performed in Iraq like Lydon stated recently. I doubt they'll dare though.

without pistols shaking this country from the american disco period around 1976 what would have happened? would we have had post punk after the punk ? blondie, police, bunnymen, cure etc would not have been..actually would there have been a joy division, therefore new order? respect the people that got us out of a musical stand still at that time, even though pistols were fucking knobs
