Personally the name the 'Ghost of Curtis' and the way the lead singer does a faux Ian, kinda pisses me off. Guess the US got another tribute band.
but in the spirit of impartiality, here goes.

I'm sure these guys were mentioned on one of the other forums fairly recently, Burt... Fair play to them, but I prefer my tribute bands to have a little something different about them, if that makes sense...

Singer looked like he'd cacked his pants and found it hard to move at the start of the first clip and then i cringed before the start of the second when the nerdy yank in the audience goes "I suggest Atmosphere! "

I'm sorry I just don't get it. If you want to listen to Joy Division listen to Still Closer (to the) Unknown Pleasures listen to Joy Division not some "Tribute" band that canny be arsed thinking up their own tunes (and I know a lot of people on here are into Re-Order, I've never heard them, and even if I had I STILL do not see the point.) Surely the whole idea of any artistic endeavour is originality and finding your own voice style! Am a right or a meringue?

Anyhoo... was posting on the "What's MIMX Listening To Now" thread, and realised this just about summed up what I was getting at, if your gonna do a cover/tribute or whatever...
They sounded pretty good.I know what you mean Burt,he doesn't dance as good as me. Interesting what NO LOVE LOST would have sounded like if Ian had started using his Scott Walker-ish vocals back then.
I don't know...RE-ORDER,the times I've seen them sound bloody great,and DIGITAL,and still get the crowd going.End of the day,if you come out of their gigs a sweaty cunt,then MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

I have no problem with tribute bands but I have one with the fact that this singer tries to move like Curtis. This is ridiculous.
these guys are not a tribute band, but are some friends who did some raw versions of Warsaw live...

They are not that bad really. I don't usually like tribute bands either but in this case, where the band are no longer together I think it would be kind of fun to try to relive what it must have been like to have gone to a JD gig. I know it would NEVER be the same as the real thing...but might be fun. I would agree about the band name and trying to mimic Ian Curtis...it's just not right.
