You did a right proper job of verbalizing what Hooky added. Hard as they try, many songs don't sound the same without him.
However, some would argue that it could be a blessing in disguise.
The new bass player will indeed add a slightly different element to the sound, because after all, towards the end, Hooky seemed to be playing the same bassline over and over again on most of the songs. In fact, he was extremely good at recycling his own basslines!!!
