Sheesh -- they know they have to fly over the eastern two-thirds of America anyway, right?

I would love to see them again and have traveled in the past to do so. I love seeing new venues and seeing the band, since every show I've seen had something special. The timing this trip just does not work for me. If only Chicago came after LA then I would be set. Alas, hopefully another strong showing in the seats will encourage them to return again to the eastern portion of the country later in 2014 or early in 2015 with perhaps the much ballyhooed new music released. To all you lot lucky enough to go, enjoy it and live in the moment!!

Well, methinks I will make a visit to Chicago. Never been there, but would be a cool city to visit and of course party with all you Vikings!

I guess I'm doing all North American dates bar that festival in the middle of nowhere.

Barney quoted saying 7 tracks (vocals and all) in the can.

I've never had a New Order concert cancelled. Just Electronic and Bad Lieutenant!

Not cancellations that fuck it up, cars taking $1000 shits the day before, Wifey booking the wrong flight, birth of my second child. Minor issues![:eek]

New Order has played festivals throughout their career. What's your point?

Not much activity in this thread considering the tour begins this evening. I'm disappointed that there's not been the usual setlist debates and meetup discussions. Have we become lackadaisical due to their more frequent outings?

I, for one, still get excited.

Hope everyone has a great time, sorry I can't be with you this time.

Am sure some of the travelling Vikings will want to meet up when the tour rolls around to California.

If it's any consolation, I'm very excited! Only doing San Fran and LA gigs mind. I'm meeting the others when they fly down from Vancouver and a few of the LA based fans.

Anyone else from here at those gigs? Particularly excited about the Greek Theatre (but not happy about sitting down).

I'll be at the San Francisco gig.

The venue is nothing special, just a big auditorium. It's double the capacity of the Fox Theatre in Oakland, which explains why tickets are still available.

It's close to many hotels, restaurants, bars and the BART so I'm pleased that they've moved to across the Bay.

For me too, but have work commitments that have made it difficult this time around. Like, making sure I continue to have work commitments!

I'm sure the travelling Vikings will be up for a few drinks, before, during & after the show.

Someone needs to suggest a bar near the venue for a meet.

Vancouver

Pleased to see they're tweaking the setlist, albeit slightly, each night. No two North American gigs have been the same thus far.

Still hoping they'll swap some JD for a little Technique...

Any suggestions for a meeting place on Friday?

I was going to ask the same question. I'm expecting someone local to suggest a place for a pre-gig meetup.

There's a meet in Showdown on 6th from 5pm. The Happy One informs me.

Will you take your place at the showdown? (sorry).

Showdown? Sounds like a trap! You're not even on the continent yet you're pulling the strings like a wily puppet master.

Arrived in town too late for the meetup after all (traffic woes driving up the coast).

Glad I didn't miss any of the show. Final encore was a cover of Scott McKenzie's "If You're Going to San Francisco". They played the whole track and it actually sounded well rehearsed! Bizarre.

Happy to catch up with some of the Vikings afterwards. Will the L.A. show be unique as well?
