Well it be rude not to. I live in Derby and Hooky did us the honour. Apart from his 'interview' with Howard marks a few years ago the last time there was a anyone from New Order in Derby was Revenge back in 1990 and there were a few tonight who were at that gig when England lost to Germany in the semi finals. With all the Hooky bashing on this site we forget what a mammoth of the bass he is. Don't forget people he is one of our heroes. I write this extremely pissed so forgive the ramblings. It was a great night. Probably one of the best of The Light I have witnessed (which has been many) Brotherhood and Lowlife were swapped round and it worked. I cannot be arsed to go through the whole set but the highlights were from JD ' means to an end', New Order Broken promise, face up etc etc etc, it was all fucking good. Yeah I' m all for the new stuff and will be there in Liverpool and Manchester warehouse for the latest new order but never forget the God of bass remembering us small time folk from Derby, the whole band were great tonight. The crowd were great tonight, fuck it I feel great tonight.

Did he:

  • wave his arm about like a deranged parking attendant at a music festival?

  • puff his chest out like stupid peacock?

  • play any new material?

Hahahaha

Long live New Order

Come on Barney !

I've never understood Hook's 'hero' status - always though he was a cock. Only now he seems to be proving it in public on a regular basis. Think his stage posturing is just a way of distracting from his 2 string bass playing and woeful vocals.

New Order should have sacked the fucker in 1990 and got in someone who could play the funk like Jez (ACR) or Mark King haha.

Well I was not commenting on the mans personality,I don't agree with a lot of things he has said in the press particularly comments about Gillian. However as a night out of admittedly nostalgia it's a great night and many people on this web site regularly attend The light shows. You cannot complain about the 3 hour performances he puts into his shows along with the energy and we get the chance to hear New Orders impressive back catalogue which otherwise we would never get to hear a lot of these tracks live again. How many times have people complained about not hearing there favourites live anymore. He was part of our favourite band of JD and NO for30 years so that will always get my respect.

Anyway don't want to start opening the Hooky debate again my last comments on the matter. The new album is sounding very promising and I look forward to the upcoming shows. New order is dead......long live NEW ORDER

i'm unfortunately going to watch him next friday in hull

it'll be the first time i've seen him and i thought it was a good idea as low life is how my obsession with no started

since i bought my tickets though all his latest outbursts have killed my enthusiasm for the gig

i've booked a hotel though so we're still going...hopefully he'll have a meltdown onstage with music complete coming out the same day and the venue looking very sparsely populated judging by the ticket page

if only i could get hold of one of them flags from the restless video [:d]
