as usual we´re giving the NOOL Community excellent stuff to listen to.

now that you´ve heard some covers made by our contestants don´t you agree with me this tribute is one of the bests (if not the best) that you´ve heard? well, for me it is!

Well, I doubt other tribute albums had 60 songs to chose from... that's is the big difference.

As far as I understand, there is 2 types of tribute albums... one done by labels to promote their artists that have problems to be known, and other made of big shot bands and has been bands, or one hit wonders, that do a tribute album just for fun, and for some, to relaunch their careers..

The first type, you have all tributes to New Order existing.. the 2nd type you have A Means To An End for Joy Division, For The Masses for Depeche Mode.

I think we just "invented" a 3rd type of tribute album, well, maybe it has been done, but I'm unaware of this...

A tribute album made by the real fans of the band, that KNOW the songs very well.. one sure thing, artits are here to face the music and see their song demolished or rewarded..

That is a lot different, plus that we have from 60 covers to select, this will increase the quality for sure, think about it, it's enough material to do a 4 CDs set ;)

The beauty of this project: Everyone involved with this project are true fans. Who else is going to buy a new order tribute? It's an opportunity for us to "custom make" our own album and all of us to have some sort of input with this project.

We get turned off by most tribute albums because they are pretty weak, and very repetitive. They are either all trance/synth pop/whatever. It looks like ours is going tohave a nice mixture of different styles that NEw Order and Joy Division influenced.

We are also getting to know the artist, so when the album does come out, we actually know who is performing the songs. It also introduced me to some new bands that I could actually get into like Flight, and it's interesting to me to see the artist critquing each other.

Finally, for a totally selfish reason, doing a project like this has been something I've been wanting to do for a long time. This is like seeing one of my silly fantasies coming true. :) Like many people here, I am very obsessed with the band, and wanted to do something to properly pay tribute to them.

at the end of the day it´s all about music and talent to make it. and i think the NOOL community showed that has great talents in it. and everyone who gets between the 15 winners should be very proud of themselves. and those who won´t be on the CD must be proud too because they must realize how hard the competition was. i guess i´m not the only one that has been surprised with the great level of this contest so far. and we still have a lot to listen to!

I must admit, those are nice pictures...

I hate professional pictures, especially those damned wedding pictures, it's very annoying to pose for 2 hours to get damned photos :D

But sometimes the results are nice.

Mogi das Cruzes. Have you ever heard of it? yeah, i´ve been there twice. not an ugly town at all. but still i prefer the beach (Guarujá, São Vicente, Ubatuba, Ilhabela, São Lourenço) or the large cities (São Paulo, Santos, Campinas)
