Anyone catch this on C4?? A VERY ragged-looking Barney interviewed about working with the Chems, and much mutual admiration between said Brothers and New Order. Even got a live clip of the "Temptation"/"Star Guitar" medley thrown in for good measure.

Bernard looked like my old alcoholic chemistry teacher: wondering if the real Barney is locked away in an attic somewhere while his portrait has taken his place in the public eye..............

Yup I saw it.

Noel Gallagher came accross as a complete tit. Richard Ashcroft came accross well then Barney came on looking like an old alcoholic theatre dame. You know the ones that play the ugly sisters.

I remember reading something that Hookey once said about a Chems remix, that they had made a living off the backs of N.O. for years. Then in the doc last night Tom Chem said that Hookey had said (of Out of Control) that it was the best New Order song that New Order never did.

Interesting telly though.

yeah, it was a good show. i remember seeing them at reading in 99 and thinking it was just like listening to the album and was really disappointed but after seeing the live stuff last night i might give em a go again.

Barney did look rough but what are we all gonna look like when we are pushing 50?? he obviously still likes a drink!

Noel Gallagher has got an inflated ego and there are times i would like to ram his teeth down his throat. last night was one of those times.:nonono:

Gallagher can be funny at times, but he came across as a complete cock last night. And what was all that snidey crap about the Chems not coming from Manc(??) - this coming from the big-nosed git who blew town as soon as his first royalty cheque came through!!

Yeah I saw it too. Initially I thought he looked a little pickled with his red nose but then I thought maybe he's just been ski-ing and forgot to put any skin protection on his face. Either way he looked a bit better than the Victor Meldrew look from the photos of that London DJ thing the other month.

As for Noel Gallagher, he's quite funny if you don't take him seriously. Oasis never really seemed to be aware of anything going on outside of themselves and the Beatles. I'm surprised he didn't use the airtime to have yet another pop at Blur. Everytime he does I scream "Jesus, man, GET OVER IT!! that was years ago. Move ON!"

Can't believe that Miranda Sawyer did the narration for that Chemicals Doc. She seems to be tagging onto everything NO-related now.

I also recently saw the Under The Influence New Order interview on MTV which I think is about 4 years ago but I've only recently got Sky. Great to see Stephen getting interviewed, I missed his sense of humour.

Who did watch Hooky and Steve interview in MTV talking about the Finsbury Concert ? There are also some passages of their live appearance too.

There's also a short, 3 minute interview with Barney on the Chemical Bros. Singles 93-03 DVD, with interviews with Noel, Richard, Tim, Beth, Norman Cook, etc.

Barney talks about the collaboration on Out Of Control, and what he likes about the Chems.
