Thieves Like Us & Love Dance demos

I was just looking through some old tapes and found some demos I'd forgotten about. They are...

Thieves Like Us demos (02/84) My list says it contains Thieves Like Us + the instrumental + Lonesome Tonight. It's been 15 years since I dragged my bootleg tapes out. The tape does not seem to have Lonesome Tonight on it but I’ve probably got it lying around somewhere. Thieves Like Us sounds very similar to the instrumental version but with a more pronounced drum “slap” on it. Anyone else got these? Quality is not too bad.

"Love Dance" ("Love Kills"???) demos (03/11/85) When I first got this back in the 80’s I didn’t think it was New Order because the vocal does not sound like Barney at all. I just listened to it again and it does has some definitive New Order sounds – specifically Barney’s melodica and trademark Hooky base. Which leaves me to believe this is some other band sampling New Orders sound it perhaps a collaboration I had not heard before. To be honest it has a “Dead or Alive” feeling to it. Anyone know what this could be?

Rather than demos, they are a rejected mix I think - the song was done and dusted by Feb 84 !

This "Love Dance" thing crops up on here every so often. It was recorded by a band called "The Bridge" (?) and has no connection with New Order other than being a deliberate attempt to sound like them. Eddie Wolfram was fooled enough to include it on the end of his Hacienda 3/12/85 bootleg !

Isn't "Love Dance" by "The Bridge", a one-off New Order ripoff outfit? I think it only came out as a 12" with a hideous pink cover labelled "for export only". It has a vocal version on one side and an instrumental on the other - as the latter, is isn't a bad piece of music, but the vocalist (and I use the term loosely) doesn't seem to know who he is - Ian or Barney (or as you say, maybe Pete Burns!) Al. Will this be available soon on CDR? For years, I thought that it was a NO demo until Tim shocked me to the core.

I will still think of it as New Order and ned a good quality copy.
