Turntables

I recently recieved a stack of NO vinyl (thank you once more) but alas i have no way of listening to them, but wifey has said she would buy me a turntable for my birthday (early next month) and she wants to spend about £100 (to include speakers as well ! )

Anyone got any tips ?

Usually I would say Linn Sondek LP12 but it costs £100 just to say it

The Bush MT-T1 £50 is apparently a very good player for the price and has a built in phono stage (not all amps have them these days). Every other player I would recommend costs far more, i.e. Rega Planar, NAD 533, Projekt etc...

I treated myself to a Sony PSLX-250 which I plug into the aux on the dvd player and it's great ! only drawback being that I have to swap cables for video and turntable as and when required. The thing itself comes highly recommended, seen it on the internet for $99, bought locally for €109 which is approx 75 quid.

Project do good quality turntables (eg Debut, 0.5, etc.) for not much above £100. Not with speakers though...

Looks like the mother-in-law is buying me a pair of speakers
