24 hour party people

In the movie there is a part where the band is playing in a room "Blue Monday" but acoustic. I wondered how that version is called and where can I find it?

It's called "some actors comping their way thru the song" and is available only on 24hpp I'm afraid. It is doubtful that BM ever existed in this form as the original concept was for a fully automated track, played and sung by machines, it never came to pass cos equipment of that era was insane, never mind that it was run and maintained by Barney Steve and Gills.

So sad....many possibly great songs (even as instrumentals) were probably lost during the early days to things like glitchy Emulators or careless roadies.

John S is also playing the guitar, as for whether Ralf little is playing the shergold 6 is another matter. Hooky NEVER played anything like a bassline on that thing, in fact I doubt you COULD play normal basslines on it.

I thought it was always wholly computer generated and that Steve originally spent hours programming comuter vocals too but that some hapless "engineer" accidentally wiped them - Steve couldn't be arsed to do it all again.

It wasn't an engineer that wiped the work in progress, it was one of the band tripping over the mains cable and pulling it out of the wall...

Which dopey individual would that have been then?

My bet's on Barney...

a conspiracy theory eh? like it. can see the thought process behind that from barney "so they're planning to do the voices digitally eh? thats me out the band then - better sabotage it!"

As singing completely out of tune at every opportunity hasn't prompted them to get rid of him, he's probably safe by now!

Incidentally, from Pedant's Corner, the Retro booklet thingy says it was an engineer, and I'm sure that's what Steve said in an interview in Select magazine years ago. Any source for the band-member theory?

I know these little myths get altered in the telling...

I checked the sountreck out - it dosen't have it... Am I bend to have that version for ever?

Wasn't Blue Monday "written" in the old well tested way of what does this button do? It possible though that the lyrics were originaly part of a different song or written acousticly.
