My wife is a New Order widow, and thinks Barney is a Twat, I know Pete's wife call Barney a Northern Poof, and Daves wife aint too impressed.
Anyone else have another half who does not understand our craving for the Order?

my other half doesn't understand it but she puts up with it and even bought me NO & JD Cd's on special occasions, bless her golden heart... 
I have decided to stop listening to New Order or related when the wife is around...
As much as I like the music, I prefer to avoid any argument on this.
She always wins anyways 
My wife likes them, has been to Paris and Old Trafford gigs in the last year or so (her brother came to Finsbury instead as she wasn't well). She can't stand The Fall though !
Too right Mike. She just does'nt understand, its pointless trying to explain to someone about the greatest band in the world. What they mean - shit they are a huge part of my life - always there if you know what I mean. She cant beleive some of the DVD footage that I've got - only play for an hour,blue lights,no talking no encore. Just the way it should be really let the music do the talking. Not very good with words except to say that if you have seen them as often as myself (or only once) and like many on this forum - Al,Tim & Mike you all know what I am getting at,but then I am preaching to the converted!
My wife just goes on about the fact "he can't sing". My answer is "well he's made enough money from it, maybe I should have a go :D"
I put a thread like this a while ago, because I do have many arguements with my wife about NO. She thought I was mentally ill. SO I just put on my head phones when she is around. It still kinda suck not being able to listen to them in the car with her around.
Quality Mike, just got in from a Fireworks party to find someone else has been guzzling Chablis this evening. Can't be beaten in the wine stakes.
My Mrs ain't really a fan, per se, and does get a little narked with some of the money I pump into memorabilia and stuff, but she has now seen the band 24 times, which ain't bad for a 27 year old. In fact, I doubt that can be beaten for anyone in her peer group, bar perhaps Phil Cunningham!
Yeah, my family cannot stand my obsession. I know that it is a case of complete overkill and if I just listened moderately, then they would'nt mind. I remember a girlfriend who could not put up with my passion (for N.O)! and had enough but after we had finished, she rang me and declared Movement to be the work of art that I had tried to tell her when we were together, she said it was brilliant. Back to the present, my wife is pissed off with all the packages arriving almost daily and the heaps of CDs in every corner. This could make a good topic on Kilroy/Tricia show
The missus reckons they're crap, but would still buy me a NO cd/vid. Actually, now that I think of it, I don't reckon any of my friends like them. Oh well, it's nice in a way to be the only one who's seen the light.
my girlfriend used to like (still like) Bon Jovi and stuff like that. so i did her a favour! 
she´s very into the order right now. she even read all the Community posts by herself and all that. so i can say i won! 
Oh how grateful I am to be married to a music lover... My wife borrows my New Order Cds all the time, bought me 511 as a gift, and has quite an extensive music collection of her own. The only issue here sometimes is volume. :) Did I mention she has a Telecaster? 
My hubby is a generation ahead of me and he loves classic rock like Yes, The Beatles, etc. When we were dating, we used to talk about all the concerts we had seen. He would go on about seeing Yes, Neil Young, Boston and these other artists, numerous times, and I would tell him about New Order: how I saw them two times, and they are my favorite band. He used to hate the Order and would tell me they sucked. Well, after playing New Order and Electronic songs almost every single day, he now sings along to the songs (he thinks Twisted Tenderness is a great album). He still loves pissing me off and will constantly crank out Barney is gay jokes, but he just does it to get me mad since he knows Barney is my favorite. My six year old son even likes Bernard. I have converted them all. 
my girlfriend is a football widow during the fall/winter season, luckily she likes new order though, except for "world in motion" because i played that every week last year and dedicated it to my fantasy football player of the week. kamar
A couple of weeks after meeting (1996), my girlfriend and I had a telephone conversation. At that point in time she was not aware of my music obsession. Our conversation touched on the fact that she still lived with her parents:
Her: "I wish I had a place I could call my own." Me: "Have a conversation on the telephone." Her: "New Order."
I knew then and there that the relationship had a chance.
Yep, my wife is bemused by all the CD's and packages too. New Order isn't really her thing, but I was well pleased when I took her to see the Saville exhibition a couple of months back and she really liked Soundtrack. Now we just need to work through the entire 1981-2002 catalogue to see what else she likes!
I am very fortunate that my other half is a fan too, although not to the same extent. For one, he gets kinda miffed with the amount of money I've spent but then that's none of his business as it's not his I spend.
Anyway, the kids each have their own cd player and at bedtime they always listen to some music. Quite often I'm asked for a loan of one of my cd's. I've recently bought BM88 so my eldest could put it on repeat and listen to three versions of BM while falling asleep, god bless him
Deek's ok with that, although recently he got annoyed when Tattiescone started singing 'what the hell is happening, I can't think of everything' in the back of the car. Accused me of brainwashing, he did !

chablis? its certainly up there in the best whites, but what about a nice gewurtz? fat in the mouth with a good length & a creamy finish.

My wife likes The Pet Shop Boys and Robbie Williams so there's two links to NO. She did buy Republic while we were courting though.

Didn't the Order support him in Germany? Robbie would most likely be linked to Oasis, wouldn't you think?
