Power of the Perfect Kiss

Last Summer, I took a great chance to see New Order videos on wide screen. 13 New Order videos were put on the screen as a special screening section of one International Film Festival in Korea.

At its beginning, 1963 was shown, but the audience did not look like interested.... Well..it's not that all the audience liked New Order. After 1963, Confusion and BLT, The Perfect Kiss video (full-length) was shown. Then, it really touched the audience. You know, how good the song is and how good the video is. The audience gave a thunderous round of applause. Although New Order could not know it, I was very pleased to feel the power of The perfect Kiss.

And nobody wanted to Sebsy ?

Humour is banned today by the look of things. So, as an attempt to introduce some New Order to the thread and to use up sufficient lines of text as to not be a "one-liner", what does anyone reckon the chances are of hearing the aural magnificence of The Perfect Kiss at the forthcoming dates ? Having not played it for a few years, it must surely be a contender for return to the set, given that it virtually plays itself and Steve doesn't have to do any drumming in it. Actually I know why they don't play it, they don't play any songs that had Gillian keyboard parts in them do they ? Gillian guitar bits can be played by the Marion geezer, but they seem to shy away from songs that included Gillian keyboard parts. Or am I wrong ?

I would certainly love to hear it, it's always been one of my faves....

It plays itself !! Apart from Barney's melodica and a bit of bass, it is/can be all sequenced !

There's no chance of them playing TPK, apparently it would take about 6 months to program all the sequencer parts.

I would just like to see them in concert! :(

You know, I'm really happy with that set, however it seems most maturer New Order fans would like it different.

It's understandable, as most of the maturer fans would have seen NO before, but as for me, a 'newbie' if you will, that lineup is a dream.

Crystal goes off, and I really hope when Sumner sings "Atmosphere" he does it "Ian Curtis" style ... man, that song, sung that way, is so deep. ;)

The fella who does all the programming is Roger Lyon & I asked him about TPK when we bumped into him after the Stockholm gig. He reckons to get all the sequencing ready would take.........6 months!. Spot on Muffy.

Given that their rehearsal time for Oz is 1 week, it would appear unlikely that TPK will get an airing. Bummer.

So what happened to the old sequenced version then ? New gear ?

Going back to the original topic, I'm glad to hear the Perfect Kiss video still has that impact on people who never saw it.

I've said this already but to me, it's the best video ever made.
