Well, I am quite excited and honored for this opportunity that NOOL has given me, I just hope I can represent this site well! What we would like to do is ask Hybrid and Peter hook questions from members of NOOL. So please feel free to post your question below, and I will ask them your questions.

to Hooky: "this tour you´re doing with Hybrid means that New Order will tour on their next album too? Because there´re people all over the world waiting for you to say YES!"

to Hybrid: "you´re living what thousands of people dreamt about: to play your songs on stage and having Hooky as the bass player! do you realize that? or you just don´t want to wake up?"

Tell him to release the full Joy Division demo version of IALP.

Oh, and tell him New Order needs to dip into their back catalogue (and I don't mean Joy Division) on their next tour. And ask if said tour will be to the States, where we love them.

And ask him if I can get his support in making a Joy Division documentary/movie.

Don't waste this opportunity with fookin' shite questions. Ask him who played guitar on Atrocity Exhibition for starters.....

I wouldn't mind knowing when the next New Order album will be released.

Have to say that I have really bad vibes about this. I just know it is going to be full of:

Hey Pete, when you guys playing (insert miniscule US provincial backwater) on the next tour ? How can he answer that ? He's not the manager

Hey Pete, when's the album out ? How can he answer that ? He's not the record company

Hey Pete, what's the deal with Gillian quitting ? How many times do people need to be told ?

Nothing at all about his collaborations with Hybrid, and nothing that will warrant a useful use of his time. Oh well.

As much as I'd like to ask hooky a million questions, I am there to interview Hybrid. Have any of you all heard the album yet? I'm supposed to be getting a copy soon. Can you guys help me out with any background info about Hybrid?

Those are the (still) unanswered question from the question list we sent to Warner UK (they told us to do so, we never got any feedback from them)... maybe THOSE could still be answered, at least those for Hooky...

As for Hybrid and Hooky about the Hybrid project, you can still send questions here..

Anyways, it's up to Mike really...

http://www.neworderonline.com/MessageList.aspx?ThreadID=1270

In fact we tried for 20.. we'll see what happens.

Remember this CAN be a long process, so please be patient.

Here are the selected questions, please don't flame us if your wasn't selected, it was VERY hard to do a selection...

QUESTIONS FOR THE BAND (ANYONE OR ALL OF YOU CAN ANSWER)

1. Why do you play the same set every night?

Brian Geoghagan Seattle, Washington, USA

2. Is there a reason why there's no song from Technique and Low Life played on the current tour ?

Geoffroy Klompkes Brussels, Belgium

Seb Briggs London, England, U.K.

3. What happened to songs like The Happy One or the 17 minutes version of Elegia? Is there a vault somewhere containing lots of unreleased songs and if so will they ever see the light of day?

Sébastien Boisvert Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Muffy Muffland, near the Honey Pot (Glasgow, Scotland, U.K.)

4. Any plans to release the 1998 Peel Sessions ??? To make it a full length CD maybe adding the 2001 BBC Sessions (Slow Jam, Rock The Shack, Your Silent Face, Close Range) ???

Marco Pleil Frankfurt, Germany

5. Was the mysterious figure in the doorway of the Perfect Kiss video supposed to be Ian? If so, was that your idea or Jonathan Demme's?

Trevor Seigler Walhalla, South Carolina, USA

6. Have you ever considered re-recording some of your older songs in the Get Ready style? For instance, could you imagine creating a rock version of World, Blue Monday or Confusion? What would you say to re-recording some of your early stuff with today's sounds, technology and instruments? Have you ever considered releasing an album of Joy Division songs recorded by New Order?

Benoit Codrons Brussels, Belgium

Jason St. John Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

Nicolas LeBlanc Montreal, Quebec, Canada

7. Would you consider releasing an unplugged or live album?

Robert Roy Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Nicolas LeBlanc Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Brian Geoghagan Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.

8. You released a DVD named "New Order 3 16". What does 3 16 means?

Nicolas LeBlanc Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Sébastien Boisvert Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Maria Jonsson Stockholm, Sweden

And basically everyone on the website!

9. You´re playing again Joy Division songs, is because the ghosts finally disappeared or because the scary ghosts became more friendly?

Alejo Parella Buenos Aires, Argentina

Yuki Tsujikawa Kyoto, Japan

Zico Somewhere

11. After all these years of making music, do you have any major ambitions or goals you want to achieve?

John Harlington Doncaster, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom

QUESTIONS FOR BERNARD SUMNER

12. Your sight is good nowdays? I read your interview from one Korean music magazine in 1999 that you said, without your glasses, you couldn't read the setlist put on the floor then you said it's just a joke. When I saw a photograph of you mading a wry face, I came to worry about your sight because I do the same without my glasses as a short-sighted.

Heather Kim Seoul, South Korea

13. Which song that you have wrote are you most proud of?

Steve Turner Sheffield, England, U.K.

14. Barney, you sound like you are a bit sick of performing Blue Monday live these days. Do you feel like you're obliged to use it as an encore in every set?

Wayne Gerdtz (a.k.a. CandyTheDog) Melbourne, Australia

QUESTIONS FOR PETER HOOK

15. Hooky, what tracks have you heard and thought "I wish we'd done that"?

Rob B Manchester, England, U.K.

16. Were there any songs that you wanted to play on the recent tour, but the rest of the band objected? And if so what were they and why you wanted to play them?

Scott Butler Rugby, U.K .

17. Hooky: What bands do you think specifically ripped off your bass style in order to get famous?

Trevor Seigler Walhalla, South Carolina, USA

QUESTIONS FOR STEPHEN MORRIS (AND GILLIAN GILBERT)

18. Joy Division is known as a "post-punk" band, but in many of their songs your drumming feels like an amazingly danceable disco - for example, Insight, Dead Souls, Incubation. It's like you're looking for people to groove, and this adds a dimension to the music that is totally unexpected and totally exciting. Was all of that your own design? Did anyone inspire you to do it, or strongly influence you?

John Kelly (a.k.a. Morris Fan) Berkeley, California, USA

19. To Gillian (or Stephen Morris can pass it to her): When are you joining the band again, girl??? NewOrder is nothing without you! (kidding) - Best wishes to your daughter, have faith.

Mauricio Fernandes Garcia Sao Paulo, Brazil

20. Steve, do you still have all your synth equipment from New Order's previous albums? Emulators, etc.

g05 Los Angeles, California, USA

Question:

There was a text in the London Sun once about a collaboration with Duran Duran. What's the truth in this?

What is New Order's input on Phil Cunningham's Run Run Run? We heard you were collaborating...

Is Phil Cunningham writing with you for the new album or will he only play music (when asking him to confirm Phil C is the guy replacing Gillian)

How many songs have you all written yet?

Is "Big Hairy Bullocks" still one of the working titles? (Don't ask that one)

Do you consider having any new collaborators with the upcoming album like Billy Corgan, Bobbie Gillespi or Chemical Brothers?

Peter, being in New York, why did New Order didn't tour in the east of North America in their last tour? is it because of the incidents of 9-11?

Do you think the band will tour in the east of North America if they tour for the next album?

Will you convince Bernard to tour this time? or does he still love his yatch too much?

Crystal went to the #1 of the Billboard (Dance Chart) in the US, do you have any idea why Reprise Records didn't even release a second single of Get Ready in the US market? And the list goes on!

Were there any consideration to release Turn My Way for the US market? It seemed to have "hit" written all over it for America, and Billy Corgan could have helped, not in the UK though.

Why did you chose to cover Vietnam for the Hope charity project, and was it your source of inspiration for Love Vigilantes?

Is there a hidden track on One True Passion v2.0? (rumor of the Joy Division cover)

Why did you release True Passion 2.0 as Revenge instead of Monaco, even though Monaco songs are on it?

After your Revenge and Monaco experience, would you love to sing a song on the upcoming New Order album? and was there any consideration for that when recording Get Ready?

Can you tell us if it is Gillian who is doing a duet with Bernard on Someone Like You?

And the list goes on...

I'd jusk ask Hooky a generalised question about New Order, what are they up to right now, and I guess Hooky will answer or not answer it dependin on his mood on the given day. In the rest of the interview I'd ask questions to and about Hybrid, One of them being the obligatory "How does it feel to work with someone who's been a hero of yours", and "How does it feel to work wit people to whom you've been a hero". Just my humble opinion.

Agreed. A sensible reply.

I've come to this thread a bit late - is there some sort of Q&A session that Michael is attending, and he is defo gonna be allowed to ask a question? Or is it just a cos of asking a question if you stumble upon him at the bar, or something? If it's the latter, why not ask him if he fancies a drink!!

Hi folks :) My (admittedly kinda lame) suggestions for questions would be:

To Hybrid:

  • You've been on tour both as DJs and as a live band. Do you have a preference for one or the other? What do you find are the most enjoyable parts of each? -How did your new album Morning Sci-Fi come together? What kinds of ideas did you start with, and how did those ideas develop as you were working on them? -Are there any new ideas that you experimented with for Morning Sci-Fi that you are particularly excited about? Are there any ideas you carried over from your last album Wide Angle because they worked so well, like working with the Russian orchestras? -You've done re-mixes for a wide variety of artists. Are there any new songs in particular that you'd like to get your hands on to re-mix now? -How did you come to work with Peter Hook for Morning Sci-Fi? How did you think Peter's contribution influenced the tracks you collaborated on, and/or the album as a whole?

To Peter: -How do you think your work with Hybrid has/will influence your work with your own band(s)?

From there, I don't think there is any shortage of questions to ask Hooky... ;)

Please don't expect him to answer any old Joy Division/New Order muso questions.

No, Michael will have a private interview with Hybrid and Hooky..

At least they told me so... I'm careful now, as I don't want anyone to be deceived by past experiences..

It won't be done at the club, it will be done somewhere else.. will it really be private? I can't say, but I manage to get it for someone from NOOL...

It's my understanding that it will be a private interview. but if things don't go as planned and I'm somehow in a room with other interviewer for a q&A session, i'd be happy to do that as well! :)

Hooky's the nostalgia man, he's more likely to want to answer them than questions about the new album. However, I bow to your insight.

I agree with the above. You'd get told to f*ck off as soon as you opened your gob.

I think Tracey had the right idea, concentrate on Hybrid and only give Hooky a question or two.

Give Hybrid some respect and enjoy yourself.

Don't do what I usually do

:jawdrop:

Otherwise, it could prove embarrasing for yourself. ...... And NOOL for that matter ......

But anyhow, you may never ever get the opportunity to do it again so HAVE A GOOD ONE!! :thumb:

So here's the latest news on this. I just spoke to the PR person from the club. She told me she forwarded my info to the person who schedules the interviews. She did mention that Hooky is a bit selective with the interviews and it would be up to him. So i'll have to wait to see if this interview is a go. but I still can go up and hang out, and that would already be more than enough!

I'll close this site if Hooky doesn't do an interview to a place where the public is EXCLUSIVELY New Order fans...
