Really liked his work with Joy Division. Isolation, Transmission & Atmosphere really stand out. As well, very early New Order such as In a Lonely Place.

ps.
why was there an extra selection at the bottom. What did i do wrong ? Don't want to do it again, you see !
What is "better" ? As polls go, this one ranks down there with the wrestling one. Technically, his drumming has improved over the years, but so has the gear available to him. There are more mistakes these days, but he is still a superb drummer.
Why no "Who is the better drummer, Steve Morris or Steve Brotherdale ?" Or "Who is the better non-bass guitarist, Gillian or Hooky ?" ?

You forgot about "The Other Two" :D
His drumming's usually been decent, although I prefer his programming on the earlier NO tracks.
Well I really like his drumming on Colony it's kinda proto drum and bass (It there is such a thing)
Why cant we all just say HE ROCKS, and go on with our lives, we was awsome in Joy Division and is still awsome today.![]()

Well, can't really comment on the wrestling one as I wasn't around then. But, as I am a drummer, I thought it was an interesting question. Perhaps more relevant than who is the better dancer ?
You agree, sir ?

No. He is the same drummer, and adds different parts to different songs. Who can say which is better than another ? It's all bs.

same drummer different eras, he's always been superb, I lean toward his JD days though, love the work on the Peel sessions, especially on LWTUA. From a technical point of view do you think he's a precision drummer or more of a 'loose feel' one?
I think it's easier to bang the drums when you are young and without family troubles on your mind ![]()

I think it's called Krautrock! :)

Definitely not a feel drummer. No way. Precision all the way.
