Er yes, a pile of CDs for Julio went missing. He still says I didn't send them - I'd send him the post office receipt if I thought it would get there !

Well

Tim missed money and time after sending 5 cds to me.They never arrived here. That's my only unsuccessful case.

Elazaro has been having lots of problems with the post office here.

Your stuff and Peter's are delaying a bit more these days maybe Christmas is getting closer :D

I have a shipment of contraband due to arrive in Brazil any day now... Maybe the BPO are closet NO fanatics!

It's mainly stuff to Rio that goes missing, that lazy bastard postman has several of my packages stashed away somewhere in his house. Other than that, it takes between two and four weeks for airmail to arrive for Recife. The postman there is not a New Order fan luckily:D

Yes, I did send them, as was confirmed at the time. Will need to go back through old e-mails to give you the precise date.

This is why I've always shipped with delivery confirmation, at least in the US. I've given up trying to ship stuff to South America, simply because the whole idea that mail is supposed to be private eludes their officials.

I have to say - and I'm NOT the Brazilian post office's lawyer - that I NEVER had any trouble with it. I have bought posters, CDs and DVDs from all over the world - US, UK, Japan, Australia... and also the kind itens sent by NOOLers. All of them have found their way to my mailbox safely.

The only CD I haven't got is the one I won in the contest, but that's because Nic never sent me.

Yes, I was warned about it by the postman that use to deliver the packages that I receive from China and Japan, in my office...

But I believe that this not only a Braziliann problem, we can face it in many other countries...

my other half used to work in an Edinburgh sorting office, and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff found in posties' lofts! So far no experiences with Brazil yet, but seeing I'm in negotiations with Emok, I should be able to form an opinion soon

In future, all recordings destined for Brazil will be made available for download from my webspace, rather than posted. That way you are guaranteed to get them.

Ah ha! An objective view from someone who's seen both sides of the problem. Good points Douglas. Re. that stuff sent 3 months ago, think you might need to keep waiting.....

it seems Recife is the problem, not the entire country. see, i´ve been to Brazil lots of times and sent mail to and from Brazil. i NEVER had any problems. i even sent money (Arg to Bra, mind!). sure i mailed São Paulo, Rio, Porto Alegre but also small cities, a lot smaller than Recife.

but as i never mailed anything to Recife my thought is there must be something wrong there with the local post office. they work slow (as in Arg) but the stuff gets there on a reasonable period of time. have in mind that Brazil is a large country and that the internal post circulation must be hell of complex.

I never had problems with the mail. You have a lot of ways to send and receive stuff here. As fast and secure as you pay more. If you pay more, things go faster and better. Despite of being a public service, it's not sustained by the governament. It's a "public company", but it's still a company and not the governament acting directly. Don't hope to receive your orders in a fast and secure way paying just a few cents. It's the capitalist system, baby...

But thanks for moving to the off-topic forum .

Mauricio, I don't read everything on the forum.. but the first page does contain the word "New Order" and New Order fans.. last time I checked that topic, I thought it was about Brazilian Postmen not delivering CDs because they are New Order fanatics, and I thought it was a joke..

Hence why I let it go.. otherwise it would have been moved or even closed a long time ago.

When I've buy cds on USA and Canada, its demands 2 or 3 months to come, when I buy it on Uk, its come to Brazil into 4-5 DAYS!

due to terrorist actions, the things fron usa/canada to south america demands much more time.

When you buy something and need it quickly, you can use a broker service from miami to buenos aires and rest of south america paying 28usd by Kg.

Hey everyone yes,our mail has some problems like all worldwide. I had some troubles with norwegian, American and English for example. I can prove that i sent the lds, lps & cds but they went astray.
