...discuss, give examples etc... Call me morbid but I find this interesting in a kinda out of the depths of adversity and disaster way...

some people choose bands for this fact. it seems for them it makes more interesting if someone dies, specially tragically as a suicide or a helicopter accident. the "they still had much to live" thought helps a lot to develop the taste for a band. it seems that without myth there´s no "magic". after all a dead person can´t answer for himself so you may project all your ideas into that character, no matter if right or wrong. so these people use to get bigger than they actually were, because of so many other people blowing the baloon of the myth. Jones, Morrison, Curtis, Lennon, Cobain, Hutchence, Vicious, Bonham, Moon, Vaughan and a hundred more were smaller than people think. pure idealization, no connection with the human miseries. the deads don´t age, don´t say stupid things, don´t act like assholes, don´t sing "whoo´s" on the classic songs, don´t dance ridiculous funny. their image is stand still forever young, with more questions than answers, with more doubts than truths, with more virtues than deffects. i find these kind of fans repulsive and disgusting. it´s stupid to be hooked to a myth, it´s childish. enjoy the art, don´t idealize the person. it was only human, like the rest of us.

No, I don't think someone should have to die. However, if your talking about crap bands, it would probably be better if someone did!
