'No More Ceremonies' JD live at Lyceum 29 Feb 80

Claims that "this is the first time that the full gig has ever been heard", and that it has been "completely digitially remastered". I'm a bit skeptical regarding the legitimacy of this release, but won't pass judgement until some of my betters have had a say. Of course, 5 of the 11 tracks have already appeared on the H&S boxset, and all the earlier bootlegs have all the performances except for Incubation (I'd guess there were multiple sources for the recording)

Well, this whole things smacks of bootleg: which legitimate company would put out a limited run of 500 (!) copies of a Joy Division CD, and make reference in the blurb to previous releases on bootleg VINYL? Besides, the title 'No More Ceremonies' sucks really bad... no class at all.

I might as well go ahead and start weeding my very own 'remastered' CD, carefully compiled from the Heart & Soul Boxset & a virgin copy of the 'Komackino' bootleg. Will save you lot 18 $ AND you will get the soundcheck as well (from a tape).

Perhaps I should have expressed my skepticism a bit more strongly, heh. All good points in favor of not branding this a legit release, I hope that like the 3CD Paradiso issue, that this disappears before folk get taken in.

Why not just weed the bootleg versions, since the H&S tracks are officially released, and H&S is still in print? Speaking of which, I should listen to the Lyceum tracks to see if they are mixers or not.

Well, maybe I should have expressed myself more clearly, too ;). All I took from the H&S box are Incubation and the pre-song bit leading to She's Lost Control, which are missing from the bootleg. Apart from that, it's basically a very clean recording of 'Komackino'. See my thread on the other forum.

I don't think I've ever seen any official release refer to Ian's suicide in the press blurb. Veeerryyy dodgy.

Plus how many live albums have you ever seen that rate the sound quality? 9-/9? That seems like a vaguely familiar rating system.

Oh, and I guess my CD from the vinyl Komackino is digitally remastered as well.
