If New Order tour again, what would you like to see em play? What I am getting at, is they should be playing what we want, not dross like Blue Monday.

So lets all pick 8 tracks that we would like live, as the others would of course be made up of material to promote the new album.

Also, bring back the old school equipment with Gillian running it (for at least a COUPLE of North American gigs), instead of just one dude operating a Mac offstage

Get Blue Monday, WIM, and the watered down JD tracks the hell out of there. There's MASSIVE amounts of great back catologue to revisit.

I totaly agree, Blue Monday is so dated, and is that correct that all the sequenced bits are run from a mac by somone not even in the band?

Id love to see the auto cue F**k up.

i've been listening to Detroit 89 and damn that was a fine show. Barney does a helluva job on vocals, hooky sounds smashed but competent and the band are on good form. if only they could find that fire again and not play a Vegas Style show...the person running the sound needs to lower Hooky's mic so he's barely audible and Bernards whoops are so predictable, a sound engineer with half a brain could try to mute them out or at least cut the volume. Bernard basically sucks as a live vocalist and if it weren't for Hooky's live ego and Steve's human drum machine qualities, the current NewOrder live experience would be a complete waste of time.

What made NO special in the early days was that they did NO encores and how many tracks did they actually perform at a few of the shows? 8/9? with maximum time limit of 40 minutes? It may not have seemed a long show in those days but boy was every single second of those 40 minutes special.

I can indeed confirm that it was and one which immediately springs to mind is the Brixton Ace gig in March 1983. One very SUPERB gig. NO were flying and even then I knew I was fortunate to be there.

Anyway Encores...I can remember a gig at Swansea (or was it Newcastle Mayfair) when the band were off stage at the end of the gig and the host DJ became inpatient with the band and announced that they should 'come back on and give the crowd what they want'. This of course did not go down too well with Hooky who responded in typical fashion

"You stick to your business and we'll stick to ours"

Classic, and yes I do believe they did play one more.

I was at the BRIXTON ACE gig, i travelled from West Brom on my own and paid £30 for what was a £3.00 or £3.50 ticket.

What a gig, what a venue. They were awesome in 83-84.

Happy times, I will be able to tell the grand kids about it in another 20 years

That's the one and the DJ was offered out by Barney prior to an encore of confusion. Odd thing about Confusion is that they encored it in Brum three years on the trot

Many excellent choices above, I 'd go for nothing that post dates Brotherhood.

Other essentials are; Viking theme tune intro No autocue, more ad libs No radio mikes/guitars, keep them in one place No full use of the stage. Always best crushed up to the front of the stage. Blue lights.

And I believe around 50 or so punters stayed behind to see if the threatened ruck between Barney and the DJ actually took place. I've never heard that it did, but if anyone saw anything, that would be one for the archives....
