Which single track do you think is Hannett's best work with either Joy Division or New Order?

I would wager to say Transmission, Atmosphere, or Disorder, but I may change my mind with other suggestions.

Aye, that's a very good one.

On a slightly related note, does anyone think the album version of Atmosphere should've ended with the same synth chord the live versions end on? That last extra note on most of the live versions just makes the chord progression resolve a lot better. (I apologize if I've described that badly, as I have no musical talent.)

Glass (he showed them the way right from the beginning) and Insight.

Can't say, but if the story in 24HPP is right, She's Lost Control was a work of art.. putting Steve on the top of the building

I hope he really didn't do that.

I was in stitches when I saw Steve was still playing on the roof as the rest of the band drove off into the night, discussing the day's work

Not sure I know an album version, unless you mean Substance or Permanent ?

That's a relief. I was thinking I may be missing something crucial. You're right about the final chord, though I do like the shimmer as well.

Or even better when the "doorman" at the Hacienda throw Steve and Gil out of the line.

Got to be "In a lonely Place" - a monumental piece of work.

Even though I love UP more, I can't deny the beauty of Closer. That's the best Hannett, end of discussion (but please continue anyways :thumb: )
