Leftfield Turns Down New Order?

found this while reading through Leftfield interviews. just prior to this, one of the leftfield chaps says Jarvis from Pulp reminds him of Ian Curtis. this bit however, got me drooling over what could have been.

........"You've got to be careful, though," chips in Daley. "We've been asked to remix a lot of New Order stuff and we can't really see the point in that either. It's fine as it is."...........

he's got a point but i'd much rather have mixes by Leftfield than that Cheesemaster Joe. T. Vanelli....not to mention Armand Van Fucken.

yep, this article is from 95...i assume they were asked to do mixes in 93 for Republic. i think they would have done a great job on Spooky and could have made a much better dub version of Ruined than Sly and Robbie.

It's a teaser, that's a fact, but it ties two of my favourite bands together in a way that I'd not known before, so thanks for that. Can anybody make a connection between between Underworld and NO apart from they both create sublime music?
