Has anyone else has the problem with CD corrosion. My Republic cd has corroded around the edges (luckly not the soft orange one!) I dont know what causes this but its not good!

My Republic and also the related singles have gone a funny colour on top, but they still play OK.
my republic cd is the same,it wont play,just seems to be the uk release tho,my jap & us copies play ok.
Don't own the UK CD of Republic, just the vinyl, but I do know that the issue of "CD rot" has been a much debated issue. Found this article that might address the issue, especially if Republic was manufactured by this company. On a personal level though, out of the hundreds and hundreds of discs that I've got, I've only had one that has fallen to the rot, the UK pressing of Einsturzende Neubauten's Haus Der Leuge.
While searching for info, I came across this site with some nice pics of some Joy Division boots.
