NEWORDERONLINE LOOKING FOR FORUM MODERATORS.

We had an idea to put a few other forums on the site that would allow people who are not very fluent in english to speak about New Order in their own languages, and so we created a version of Digital Republic in the following languages: - French: République Numérique- German: Digital Republik- Swedish: Digital Republiken- Portuguese: Digital República

Of course, beside french, we do not master these other languages and therefore we could use the help of dedicated users who've been on NewOrderOnline for a while and who would be ready to moderate one of these boards.

Our choices are:

French: Geoffroy Klompes! German: Marco Pleil Swedish: Maria J(onsson?) Portuguese: don't know yet!

Your mission, if you accept it, will bring you sometimes to edit or delete messages or to close threads. Yeepie. Most of the time, it won't change anything (for you at least, because for us it will be sort of a relief!). :)

So? What do you say?

Of course, if anyone else wants to take the job, send your resumes! ;)

Count me in.

I'm up for it! I'm impressed by your knowledge in swedish btw :)

Digitalrepubliken should be written as one word though ("Digitala republiken" is also correct, but digitalrepubliken sounds better IMO)

Ahem, I'm not making a fuss over this, it really doesn't matter, but technically Digital Rebublik could also be right, and in that case you can keep the words apart. The thing is by the big influence English has over the Swedish languague (as it has over many other languages), a lot of people in Sweden has begun to separate words in writing, when they're supposed to be written as one!

Tout cela est bel et beau, Nicolas mais, quand j'ai essayé d'aller dans 'République numérique', j'ai eu un message d'erreur. Tu me préviens quand c'est réparé ?

Merci,

Geoffroy

ADODB.Field error '80020009'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

?

But... what's the logic behind this?

Please, teach me!

I still have these fantasies about speaking swedish since I met a very nice swedish girl about 7 years ago, and... well... nevermind.

Well, I didn't understand much, but if you were complaining about the fact that we didn't set up a forum in DUTCH, well the only reason for that is because we feel that there aren't enough people from Holland (or the Netherlands) or even Belgium (the part where they speak Dutch) on the site *YET*. But that may change very quickly since, for some reason, we've had A LOT of new users from the Netherlands registering on the site these past few days.

We should also maybe set a forum in spanish (espanol!). And maybe one in JAPANESE also.

Beside these, I don't think we should put any more because it will make it very difficult to follow everything, and besides, if someone in the New Order world cannot understand english, french, german, spanish, portuguese, swedish and dutch... WHAT CAN WE DO ?

Hello Seb!

Your guess was quite good (of course!). Small translation of original text:

quote Yes, yes, and what about Dutch, that's forgotten again.......

......... well you all don't know what you miss, this beautiful country!

Regards from the digital republic!!

New Order has to give a gig in Holland! and what about the forum?

Kind regards, unquote

And Seb, you are right in a way. Not many people do talk Dutch. Holland has got some 16 million inhabitants and Belgium some 9(??) million, of whom not all speak Dutch. And then, they are not even all visiting this site (unfortunately?).

A consequence of using more languages separately, might be that more smaller communities will be formed. And that would be a pity!!! I enjoy right now having discussions with and reading discussions by participants from all the world.

And that could maybe disappear more or less. In the respective forums a new single or a new video will be discussed at the same time, in English by the English native speakers and the neutral participants, in French by the French and other French speaking, etc. etc.

Well, that would be nice (NOT!).

So, thinking of this matter again, you could even reconsider your decision (or maybe reconsider it depending on the actual effect?), and NOT make so many different smaller forums....

Or do you expect the English forum to be the 'general' forum, whereas the different language forums will be specialised sub-forums???

Let the French speak English! (normally most of them refuse to!). Ha Ha!!

Let's just see how it all will develope? The site itself is very special, and once again I would like to compliment you (and the other(s) involved in its development)!!!

Kind regards, the smiling Dutchman,

Jim (in Dutch: Jaap)

Personally, I will post on the 2 forums, and I don't see the language specific forums as sub-forums.

For me, its a chance to express myself in a language I master. But I would miss too much the people here to not post on the English version.

And considering our webmasters are french speaking, I find it quite logical that they launch a french version.

Allright... This reply is kind of late, because I have been asleep for like 12 hours :)

I suggest you change Kåseriet och tala om New Order either to Chatta om New Order or Diskutera New Order på svenska

I'll explain! :) Kåsera does mean "to chat", but the word is old-fashioned and is more connected with what a columnist does.

So in that case chatta is more modern and more frequently used by younger people (and esp. when talking about the internet off course)

I would prefer diskutera (=discuss), because chatting has more to do with chat rooms, and discussing has more to do with discussion boards (I'm stating the obvious today, arent I?)

About digitalrepububliken vs digitala republiken... first: Digitala republiken = *The* digital republic and more specifically maybe: this digital republic

Digital Rebuplik = *A* digital republic, whichever

Digitalrepubliken = written together like this it becimes a noun, and looks more like a name of a country...

I'm trying to explain, but I'm not making sense, am I?? :)

Okay look I think this is getting out of handle bars... why not just ditch the suggested moderators and get me and the Muffboxer to handle all seven languages splitting the graft 60/40 in favour of Muffy doing the hard work. I'll handle all of the bird singing, cat meows and alien dialects (that's the extra-pedestrian type) and Muffy can brush up on his Japanese, Zulu and Hispanic.

If we run into trouble we'll just e-mail the ticky gear to Buster who will surely find an answer or suitable alternative.

My demands are simple, 2 pies and a gold coin at Christmas, Muffy to receive an infinite supply of toilet roll until May 2007.

This offer is only for today, so Web fettlers... speak now or forever hold your feet.
