Was Solitude ever recorded apart from live?

quick answer:

Yes, it appears as "Skullcrusher" on the Salvation! soundtrack (no lyrics, just an instrumental)

I'll leave the exposition to my betters this time.

I know about Skullcrusher cos I got Salvation (bloody awful film:thumbdown:). I am only on about the vocal

Ah, then no. All the vocals I've ever head of it have been "scratch" (read: incomplete, on about parts of one's anatomy, etc.) One of my favorites is the Barcelona rendition, which has nothing in it at all about death coming from above, but does have a couplet from Face Up!

Skullcrusher 07 JUL 84 Studio 54 - Barcelona, Spain +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I saw you watching here for today at me I saw you keeping eyes all free You heard me calling with that voice of mine You felt that we were pure together

You heard me when I called you fat You said that I was just a twat Oh, your tits are big and your bunny(bum?) smells so bad I'm not sure I wish I was your dad

Your hair was black and you eyes were blue Guess what I'm going to do to you! Oh, your mouth...the fact that you paid(?) I'm going to fuck you up to pieces(?)...all insane

You told me and I told you We are gonna put it through You told me and I told you You told me and I told you

Afraid so. Barney used to have a habit of making up foul-mouthed rhymes on stage where he had no lyrics (and indeed some times when he had lyrics but just felt like swearing). Many of them were quite embarrassing, which may explain his hatred of bootlegs, as he can't bear the thought of people hearing his potty-mouth !

He cannot bear the thought of us hearing bootlegs wittnessing his potty mouth??? :laugh::laugh::laugh: Yet he does not stop. Official release of 511 has many F bombs and a penis reference. 316 has penisical lyric change:laugh:

I would love to see the expression on the faces of the rest of the band when his lyrics start getting nasty. Gillian had to blush with Bradford rendition of Face Up or the premier of TPK. Or maybe this is local behavior and nomanclature???

My theory is that Barney always had Trouble remembering his lyrics. In the old days he had no autocue, so he just made up some crap.

This also goes for new songs that were performed in an unfinished state.

I guess it's/was easier for him to make up rude lyrics than "nice" ones.
