Yeah I caught Question Time accidentally last night and stayed with it just to see if old Tone found a good excuse to namedrop his past musical connections. Missed the start but it would have been funny to hear Dimbleby keep up the running 24 Hour Party People gag and introduce him just as "Anthony Wilson.......twat". Pity Bernard wasn't in the audience to stand up and ask "My question is for Tony, you c***, where's all my money gone ?"

As a politics student, i must ask this question.

I tried to watch it but I couldn't listen to those other politicians - come to think of it, Wilson was speaking shit as well.

i'd say you made a wise choice shug. afterall, the Pistols vid will be replaced by the expanded DVD as soon as you get a player. plus do the Pistols actually matter? i suppose in the musical timeline they were catalysts for change but the music is barely tolerable. i used to listen back in junior high but you get over that fascination eventually. PiL have some songs i enjoy a lot more than the Pistols. basically, don't be bummed. who else taped the Wilson interview? that's right, you're the only one. how many people have the Pistols Vid or DVD? you get the point. sex pistols, like kurt cobain, got way more respect and importance placed on them than they deserved.

Can't let that outrageous statement about the Pistols go unchallenged...if anything they get too little importance attached to them and bands like the Clash get too much. For a band that existed for slightly over two years (and was only a 'functioning' band for one of those) the impact they had was incredible. This website would not be here were it not for their existence. And if you try listening to their 1976 demos or live gigs from that year you'll find it gives the lie to the 'can't play' myth.
