JD Tribute bands

There are three to the best of my knowledge, all London-based.
Unknown Pleasures and Thieves Like Us are playing the Dublin Castle, Camden on Friday 16th January.
Known Pleasures will be playing a series of dates in the UK and Northern Europe in February, March and April of this year. They also do several New Order songs as a separate set. Check the website for sound clips. Under their previous name of Number 1 Blue Murder they played the Homage night at Manchester's Roadhouse in July 2002, with Martin Gray of Goldblade, who has since departed to be replaced by Jon Stubley.

No. It's not going to be a tour, primarily because we all have reponsible jobs and families that get in the way. It will instead be the odd weekend jaunt, Friday nights here, Saturdays there. All depends on whether people actually want to see us as well - there are two other bands out there now in the same area already gigging, we have to make sure that we don't create competition in what is a small market while making sure we are as good as we can be.
As for venues, I am looking at this at the moment, and all will be posted here as soon as things are fixed up.
We still need a keyboard player/2nd guitarist !

We'll have to see - I'd love to play anywhere and everywhere, depends on Jim and Jon as to how far we go. It'll need to be a decent payer !
Fibbers in York is pretty good (if you are going that far North!). It's owned by the people who run Barfly in Camden (I'm off to see the Fall and John Cooper Clarke at Fibbers at the end of Feb). They mostly have small local bands and up-and-comers, along with a hefty amount of tribute bands - I think "The Other Smiths" (crap name) are next up!

To be honest, I'm not sure I could share a bill with people who want to be Fat Bob and Co. ! Ta for the link though, I'll check the site.
