Last night, I had this bizarre dream in which Hooky and Barney were on the most recent American Idol. First, Hooky comes out looking like he does in the Perfect Kiss video and begins to play the first bass solo, and Simon's like
are you doing? You're supposed to be singing! But Hooky then walks off, mumbling how much of a bollox Simon is. Then Barney, without a guitar and looking like he does in the True Faith vid, comes on and can't remember the lyrics to any song. So, he starts singing Happy Birthday, and Simon goes, "Mr. Sumner, do you expect me to take you seriously? You look like you're 12, you forget the lyrics, and your taste in clothes is terrible." Then Barney starts singing an acappela version of TBTHOG, and once he's done, Simon says, "So you're that guy from New Order," And my dream ended around there and I woke up, luckily. I've got to stop watching TV and 316 before i go to bed.
Dreams ought to end

Phew! So it's not just me then?
Have a habit of nodding off with TV and/or DVD running. My original TV remote got wrecked & new one doesn't have an "off timer" function. Can induce some unusual dreams alright.
Though I've yet to dream about anything as weird as Simon Cowell! ;) ![]()
Strangest one I can remember was meeting Hooky at a football match. It was in Manchester (M16) but the stadium looked nothing like it does in real life. And that's the only bit I can remember now. ![]()
I had a dream that I was eating a giant marshmellow. When I woke up, my pillow was gone!
I believe this is the 3rd time I've typed this joke on the site and it still makes me smile.

I Had a dream where i was at a Joy Division gig (in my old school hall!!??) and Ian Curtis hit me over the head with Barneys Semi acoustic Gibson and Hooky called me a right wanker for enjoying my self to much.

Actually, this isn't the strangest NO dream I've had. I had one in the summer in which I managed to break into Barney's house, through his basement, and look through photo albums of him when he was younger and find a demo tape which sounded like typical NO for a few minutes, until his vocals got distorted. I remember leaving the basement and climbing a flight of stairs, and the house seeming abandoned as I was climbing, but there was no sight of Barney.
My one and only New Order-realted dream (as far as I can remember) invovled me, Hooky, Barney and Steve all in this grassy field, standing on top of these big trash dumpsters, and for some reason we were jumping from one to another. Steve at one point tried to jump onto mine, but just missed, and when he fell he'd broken his arm ![]()
The other dream I had was of Joy Division playing a kids' birthday party, all covered with ribbons and wearing those paper hats while all these kids danced around, threw cake at one another, and generally made a mess of the place (it looked like some sort of recreation hall instead of a person's house). Hooky may have jumped into the crowd to beat up somebody, but that may just be a later elaboration ![]()

Gerard Depardieu?
No, that's Tristan :D
I've had a number of New Order and Joy Division related dreams, and they can be found by doing a search on this site, no doubt.
The only NO dream/nightmare was located in the Taras Schevchenko venue. The video scared the shit out of me - something about the lighting me thinks.
Anyway at least Gillian still looks gorgeous in it ![]()

I certainly wouldn't want to regard New Order in the same context as anything to do with American Idol - that would be too sucky. I can't imagine anything worse than someone from that show attempting to do a tune like Blue Monday. Yeuk.

Well, considering the only channel I watch, Fox, has been advertising AI3 ever since i came home, it's inevitable that it would pop up somewhere, especially once when a friend and I had a conversation that began, "What if Neil Tennant were on AI? No, wait, what if Bernard Sumner were on AI?!"

OK, I don't know if it was because I was listening to a "chill mix" of New Order before I went to sleep last night, or if it was because I almost got the minimum 8 hours of sleep, but here it goes..
I was in my neighborhood mini-mart back home in Syracuse, and on the shelves I found the 316 and 5 11 DVDs (the 5 11 ones had the two different cover designs!)
Also, right next to the DVDs was a magazine entitled "Ten Nights in Brussles" which featured pictures and interviews of New Order circa 1986, and the bulk of the magazine included pictures of Revenge, and had a feature of all of the equipment they used to record "One True Passion"

Dreams rule
I saw a NO-gig at the football stadium in Düsseldorf.
While they were playing, an aeroplane (maybe an airbus, i just don't remember so exactly) crashed near the stadium.
The strange thing was: NO didn't stop. They finished their song (I think it was BM)and then left stage.
So Mr. Freud:i'm sorry that i can't see my dream in vivid colours anymore.
But i'm sure you will find an interpretation.
